Absolutely no evidence we've missed out on any target at all. You don't know who our targets were / are; I don't know who our targets were / are; no one on this site knows who our targets were / are; and, believe it or not, no one at Sky or the other media have any real idea who our targets were / are.

One can normally tell which media story is bs and which has a grain or more of truth in it and it's my guess that one of our main targets was Eder and he has made it quite plain that he didn't want to come here

I would add Amadou and Guiata to that list. And I think we have got Guiata but it has not been announced as we are still negotiating a fee to see if we can get him now or at the end of the season.

Sturridge went to WBA because he is from Birmingham. Simple as that.

Plus WBA have Rodriguez and Sturridge as their strike force (isn’t Rondon injured?). Would you trust those two to get more than five games between them??

I would hope Parish , with Hodgson's experience, has altered his previous transfer approach.
That is to say, we don't buy at the last-minute, without having done research and negotiations.

That said, I am having to change my mind-set regarding the transfer windows.
Not so long ago in the Championship, fans seemed to relish the incorporation of an Academy player into the first team. Doesn't seem to happen any more, as we seem to be solely reliant on transfers.
Oh well, that's Prem' life for you

That must be the daftest excuse of the week otherwise all London born footballers would be queuing up at our door

Agreed to an extent, but you can't deny the attraction of a return home, especially if you still regularly visit the area for family etc. I think that's all he meant.

If he stays fit, Sturridge could be enough to keep WBA up. It is, however, quite an expensive gamble.

If we end the transfer window without a new striker then it will be disappointing but there is no guarantee that a new striker will do any better than the one we have.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Agree with all, buttttt..... those teams are getting players that can help them avoid relegation, and so far we arent. I just Dont see Jach or Rakip being impact players this season

The thing with us is that our first 11 is playing well enough to keep us up, they've shown that the last 15 games or so.

We just need some additional depth for the squad - particularly striker.

Comparing to other team's signings:
- Ulloa - not as good as Benteke, plus a loan which we can't do
- Sturridge - loan, and injury prone
- Locadia - big big gamble from the Eredivise. Brighton need someone to come in and make an immediate impact
- Carrillo - has hardly played any football in the last 2 seasons

Basically - it's tough to get someone good in in January.

And why it should've been done in August, or even better, July. But the sun did rise in September the day we sacked Frank so I suppose it's all good and the luck on this kerplunk with the squad will never run out.

He is only on loan there... why relocate to somewhere he doesn’t know for a few months?

Why do you think Puncheon joined us initially? Was it because we were an extremely attractive place to be? Don’t be daft.

Thank you. That is what I meant. He chose West Brom over Newcastle. It’s not for footballing reasons i’d Imagine.
