We really are in no position to waste money, I’m sure Dougie is well aware of requirements and is doing all he can. I’m sure we will see a lot more changes in the summer transfer window...but for now need to esnsure we bring in quality and not quantity

Regardless of how much Benteke cost he has scored a solitary goal all season. Any decent striker has a highly likely chance of kicking Benteke to the bench. How on earth can this not be the case. We all know that the areas that have been identified by the powers that be that need reinforcements. The worry is if we do not make the deals materialise. So far all we are doing is replicating the last window and last minute madness. Would love to know what Dougie has been doing with his spare time. If it all goes tits up we are staring the championship in the face...if we have any more awful injury luck.

With the best will in the world getting the right people in isn't exactly easy. Inevitably everyone hedges their bets until the last day. Look what happened last time: four deals to do on the last day, one completed, one held to ransom by the agent, one with too much to do in time and one where we couldn't negotiate terms with the selling club. Putting us in that position is in everyone's interests except ours, which is why it happens.

Roy tends to set up 4-4-2 so there’s no reason to believe he wouldn’t play a 2nd striker - we just need to find one.

Given our injury situation and our sole strike force I am really concerned that IF we don't recruit some more players we will be in real danger of the drop.On HOL I am accused of being very negative and a glass 'Half empty' person but all I am doing is trying to be realistic. Not worried quite yet as we know our tight budget means we need bargains. And those come later in the window. I reckon another 3 players should come in. We do need a striker, surely. And while I don’t want to waste money another keeper is really needed too. Imagine the pickle we’d be in if we get an injury to Wayne or Jules. I will be uneasy if we don’t get 2 minimum but not bricking it

I am fairly relaxed, apart from the striker situation. It would be criminal not to get a decent striker in, should really have been done by now. I trust that it is in hand. The goalie situation has been sorted, would like him in now, if it’s 4M Euro now would like it paid, could it be we keeping the money for the striker? Once striker sorted if the cash is spare pay the 4M euro, as Getafe ant really afford him to leave for nothing.
