Marriott is a quick and aggressive striker who presses defenders and never gives up.He is a grounded individual dedicated to his training and football. He doesn't sulk if he misses a chance, he doesn't let it bother him, he just keeps going. Right-footed and takes free kicks over a wall. Not sure what Peterborough paid for him but prior to that he was at Luton who signed him on a 'Free' from Ipswich. Edited by Willo (21 Jan 2018 6.46pm)

It could be that Marriot plus Ulloa could give us enough texts cover, plus Benteke and Sako, to get us through the rest of the season....?

But, these are all well established Premier clubs with massive academies and resources. As Parrish has said last week on the FYP Podcast, we are trying to play catch up with these clubs. There are not many clubs who have been in the Premier as long or less than us who can afford the risk of bringing through Academy strikers. Bournemouth, Watford, and the three newly promoted clubs.

We are one of the 5 PL clubs who don't have the elite 'Category One' Academy status under the Premier League's Elite Players Performance Plan (EPPP), the others being Huddersfield,Bournemouth, Burnley and Watford. We are 'Category Two'. Edited by Willo (22 Jan 2018 6.31pm)

I have a friend in real life..... He says that Marriot was signed as their 4th choice striker. He is more in the McKail-Smith mode in that he harasses defenders but a better finisher. Quick, but not as quick as Jamie Vardy. His words not mine and a bit of a strange comparison. He said it would be a big step up but with decent service he will score. As people have said, only Kane has scored more in England. Posh would probably sell him for a reasonable amount and his wages aren't likely to be massive. Sounds worth a punt.

Comparisons to CMS are not inspiring, it has to be said.

Why we are not pushing to get it back to category 1 rating is shocking really how we let to decline so badly.
