Seems a bit of an odd one but probably confirms we are unlikely to eventually see Riedewald play at centre half under Roy, which I think is a big shame. If he got given the chance to adapt to the league more, I think he could be a special centre half that would encourage us to play out from the back.

Really hope we're getting the Dougie Freedman scouting nous from his Palace days and not his Bolton/Notts Forest days.


I know it's dangerous to judge a player on one game but riederweld against Huddersfield was dire and did not appear to have physicality of a central defender. He appears more suitable in a defensive midfielder role or possibly left back. I think however that given time he will into a great player for us. Roy seems to have great man management skills and all our players seem happier and are performing better

Kelly looked crap at CB when he first played there for us. Gave goals away against Liverpool and couldn’t read the game. Now he looks great and the returning CBs will have a job on their hands displacing him.

I was quite accomplished in both areas when needed. Although I was more comfortable as a classy centre half.

I completely agree - Roy has been fantastic at improving some of the fringe players who had lost their way or didn't seem to quite fit. They all seem to respect him and he is obviously able to spot little things which are helping them to up their game.

 

Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.

He’s cheap that’s the main advantage here. Get him in and that kid on his holidays before joining Benfica and it’s buttons.

I think youre right about Riedewald. He played very well last week
In left midfield but a bit short and lacks the physicality for a CB

You gave a better memory than mine. 8ut i thought his poor rep stems from the fact that he was called upon to play LB or rb where he was never a good fit.

Never heard of any of these players just hope we are going to spend big on strikers cause these players ain't got premiership quality about them sounds a strange one to me to buy two players who play in the Swedish league

I have prepared one of my own time capsules. I have placed some rather large samples of dynamite, gunpowder and nitroglycerin. My time capsule is set to go off in the year 3000. It will show them what we are really like.
