Whenever supporters are frustrated by a lack of signings it is always attributed to Steve Parish. At the end of the day getting targets "Over the line" can be very complex with various factors entering the equation and there has hardly been a lot of movement amongst all the PL clubs. Yes it can be frustrating for supporters but let's not automtically point fingers at Parish as if he is the real villain of the peace. He would like to secure targets as soon as possible like the rest of us.

After listening to that press conference, its seems as though Roy isn't best please with club's business so far this window; especially when probed further about making signings at the end of the window. Don't blame him one bit, although it's the same every year. I understand Parish and Dougie are wary over not overpaying for players earlier on in the window, but surely there is something we're missing? We needed 4, we now need 6, and to be honest i'd be surprised if we end up with 3! Best part of 2 weeks left and you're moaning on his behalf. Are you related to him?
I refuse to believe there are that many people out there that can't spell. Too f**king lazy, that's what I think. |

Southampton have had £75m in the bank since 1st January and have so far been able to spend not one penny so perhaps it’s not quite championship manager when you’re trying to sign a player these days!

The reason that most of these deals go down to deadline day is because the agents tell the players not to take the early offers because something better will come along.

Reckon Roy has been around the block plenty enough to realise how these transfer windows work. Guess he's aware it's not for the want of trying but we definitely aren't alone in setting things up. We might get more of an indication after the deadline has passed on where he stands on our dealings.

To believe that Palace is actually a real football club with real players, a real stadium and a proper manager is heresy on TalkSh!te - the only time they mention us is when we're in a cup final or when they're introducing Simon Jordan. Did he not think he was soliloquising as usual and that all his questions were rhetorical? Edited by chateauferret (19 Jan 2018 8.06pm)

Still plenty of time to get the necessary players in. Roy pissed off, I don’t believe. If he is, maybe it’s because Tekkers is driving him nuts. I will go with that reason...

Hodgson does a very good 'pained' expression especially when pointing out to the questioner that he had never personally paid any money to a footballer and had been strictly an employee throughout his career. You don't think I would ever pay money to one of them do you? I really enjoyed that.... Money to a footballer you must be mad that's for the football club, personally I wouldn't give a player the time of day........... Is that what he was implying? good on you Roy.

He sounded more annoyed with the silly questions they kept asking even when he had already answered before. I didn't get any hint he was no pleased with what the club was trying to do in the transfer window but you can tell the injuries are not helping (only thing I worry about is if we do bring in bunch this window SP may not be willing to spend in summer) If Loftus-Cheek is going to be out for months we may as well just send him back to Chelsea and get another domestic loan in This. At no point did Roy seem annoyed by anything other than being asked the same stupid questions by idiot journos even after he’d already told others he wouldn’t be drawn on those topics. It’s almost as if there are folk that read too much into nothing because they are simply looking for ways to keep the conspiracy theories/Parish bashing going.
