I’m honestly failing to understand your logic here; guilt tripping? Covering his ass? if you could please elaborate it would be appreciated. He’s brutally honest, he (parish) has done a lot for this club. Sometimes many fans, including myself, are quick to forget that.

The only thing was, some fans think buying a player is like picking something up in a shop. He pointed out that sometimes deals can't be done at the beginning of the window because clubs and players want to see if they can get more money from someone else. The only way to avoid that is by massively overpaying. People don’t want to hear that though.

I’ve always used “podding” as slang for “giving birth”, so I was somewhat startled when I read the title of this thread.

The key thing as well is that between now and the end of the month we only have two games, which given our stronger position (compared to a couple of weeks ago) means we have a bit more breathing space with which to bargain. For example, paying an extra £5m to get a deal done today rather than in two weeks becomes less attractive on that basis. Finally, we're not Newcastle. By far the best podcast for Palace out there. Nice combination of personalities on there, all knowledgeable, some quite funny, good array of opinions. I listened to the HOLRadio one a couple of times to give it a go, but it's just not in the same league (sorry guys)

I think it's great that a Premier League chairman is willing to engage with supporters on a fan's podcast. I think he avoids answering the odd question directly probably for strategic reasons and I don't blame him for that. As for letting his actions do the talking he would be bloody amazing.
I have prepared one of my own time capsules. I have placed some rather large samples of dynamite, gunpowder and nitroglycerin. My time capsule is set to go off in the year 3000. It will show them what we are really like. |

Probably a fair point. There are certainly people on there I have less time for than others (Andy Street can be a bit irritating), but I found them more knowledgeable (and amusing) than the HOL equivalents (granted, I haven't listened to the HOL one for a few months, so it may have improved - I might have to give it another go)

Going to try and listen to it on Wednesday but can you explain how Parish was trying to make fans feel guilty while covering his own ass as much as possible? I do like to see actions rather than promises and let downs or c0ck ups though. OK. He went on about how "you can't expect me as a chairman to not make mistakes. No mate, we're not expecting you not to make mistakes. It happens. We're mad because you make the same mistakes every year. Maybe if you spent as much time trying to fix them as you do making excuses we might actually have that stability we're all moaning about

Many of us, including this HOL team contributor, think Mr Parish (and his fellow board members) is the best thing that's happened for CPFC in many decades. If supporters can't see the enormous progress the club has made since I attended the last creditors' meeting in 2010 when we were on the brink of extinction, what can you say?
