An interesting article that, reading between the lines and things Roy has said in previous interviews such as "I haven't heard that" regarding questions about transfers, and this article where he says he wasn't privy to the owner's meeting with CPFC sports science but that it "would have been interesting" tempts worrying fears that Roy is being excluded and kept in the dark.

I felt this before with other managers (except Pardew) SP not connecting with them socially, keeping them in the dark regarding transfers, possibly making them feel like worthless pieces of sh1t? Pure speculation, but I reckon SP is unwittingly beginning to p1ss off another manager.

I mean, FFS, why wait until the window opens to start talks and find out IN JANUARY that there are problems with deals? Schoolboy stuff? Or someone not really wanting to buy anyone at all?

He did say that he sat down and had a long meeting with SP and the Americans, so it's a bit of a stretch to say he's being kept in the dark. And as far as transfers are concerned he says we're in the same boat as every team outside the top six. It might be a nervy and possibly frustrating window for a lot of clubs, but it does sound like the management team are working together.

Thought Greedman was here to sort targets etc before the window opened.

Maybe he's here as Parish has a hard on for anyone ex Palace.

As for us, we are always so slow. Pathetic really considering how long we've been in the Prem now.

One striker who is having a shocking season and 2 keepers who ain't good enough. You'd think we'd have this stuff sorted by now. Nearly two weeks in we should have had two in at least.

Trust me, there are so many factors involved with transfers that it can be a very frustrating and convoluted process.

It only has another fortnight to convolute.

In response to the OP Roy has said that he is working with Freedman and values the work that is being done. He is thus not completely out of the loop.

In terms of the PL, I believe there have only been 7 deals concluded since the 'Window' opened.

All clubs are "Convoluting" !

To suggest Hodgson is "Out of the loop" is not the reality at all.

He has been working with Freedman and others, sketching out his requirements and players who are identified are presented to him for approval.

We all need to relax, we get this every transfer window. I am like most think I know what we want but it's never that easy I guess. RH I am sure knows what he wants like Sam and the club will deliver if possible. Trouble is my trust is a little wobbly as we went into the season with only 1 fit striker!!!

If that's the case who was it who pulled the plug on the Sakho deal. It won't be Freedman as that isn't part of his job description and hopefully it wouldn't have been Parish as footballing decisions shouldn't be part of his remit either so that only leaves Hodgson and the only reason that I can think of that he might have pulled the plug is that he wasn't in favour in the first place

There will be two proofs to this particular pudding. Firstly who we sign, if anyone, in this window and secondly, if we stay up, Roy becomes the third manager to walk before the next season starts. Depending on the outcome of those two will determine whether something really is rotten in the state of Selhurst.

Couldn't have put it better. I am watching closely to see if the old pattern continues. A bad window, Roy leaving before next season. Will speak volumes to me about what is truly going on. And what was BS's reasons for not continuing? Retirement? Time with family? Whatever it was it didn't need too long did it?

yes, but why did we go through the process of agreeing a fee and nearly at the medical stage before they identified that Sakho in terms of form is not much better that Benteke (Sakho 4 goals from 17 games). Freedman does seem to have enough experience to find targets or is it SP who is calling the tune and upsetting everyone as is the norm!
