I think you would struggle to a better Free than him, I think he is decent, not wonderful, also a signing on fee would be needed for any new "Free"

Dont think he's been good enough previously to warrant a start , I don't think it's due to not trying. However, he's now on the bench every week and arguably pushing for a start. I'd sign him up for another season at least.

He may or may not be but just in case we should hold off negotiating a new contract with him and keep him on his toes. Over the next couple of months we will see if his performance drops off.
I think he is playing for a new contract but this is also coupled with freedom from injury , general fitness, and forward thinking coaching as compared to the they shall not pass BFS style.

If he keeps knocking them in and playing as well as he has been in the last few games then he fully deserves a new contract.....I think he's played his way into the starting XI now, even when Townsend is fit again

So what if he is playing for a contract. I can’t believe people complain about his skills/quality, who has been better for us this season? Look at it this way, sign him and play the sh*te out of him. He is hot right now so let him go hard. If it doesn’t work out with today’s prices CP would make money selling him next year. I’m very happy to have him in our kit but to you who think you can get a free player like Him ........you’re mad! Are we better with him on the pitch or no?

He's unpredictable, fitter than he was...has a great left foot as per today...not a bad right one re Brighton....if he keeps this up he'll be one of the first on the team sheet!!

He has upstaged Benteke completely. What's that now? Five goals? Six? And usually he doesn't even start.

He is a very powerful player who frightens defenders when he is in possession going forward. Very unpredictable which makes him dangerous. RH has without doubt seen the positive in his play and has given him the confidence. On the team sheet for Arsenal without doubt!!

I must admit I thought little of him and apart from a couple of goals very early on with us he seemed to just stop and was dropped/injured, always noticed how popular he seems to be among the other players so I would say he has worked really hard to be achieving what he is right know and I admire that, he works hard on the field and as others have said he scares defenders and his play should really allow Benteke to start producing....we shall see but lets keep him who else will get these goals, he has contributed a lot since he has been back playing and he is like our hidden weapon.

His change in form is quite remarkable.....so many people were writing him off for months and now look what we have!

He really could be the transformation of the season. Well done to Roy and the team for giving him the obvious confidence boost he needed!

New contract- why not?

'Palace forward Bakary Sako: "I think we should have won by two or three but we did well to keep a clean sheet.

"I'm back in shape after injury and trying to give my best, the manager has confidence in me and I'm trying to give back.

"I'm definitely claiming the goal, that's mine.

"We should have killed the game but the back four did brilliantly, the manager, since he's been here, he's talked about team spirit has to be 100% and we are trying to do that."'

I like him.

I remember pre-season in Hong Kong. He came on in all the games and gave the side speed and aggression. But you know, he was a cheap reserve only filling in and nobody wanted to believe what he did out there.
Until recently even the duff form of Blunteke wasn't enough for the many to believe what Sako could do. But it wasn't so far beneath the surface. Just a decent run in the team without the fear of being mr fill-in second eleven. Its worked. Our multi-million pounder of a centre forward needs to grow a backbone and Sako can show him how.
