27 mill for the Tosun to Everton & Coutinho to Barca for around 147 mill otherwise there's little else happened. I'd rather we bought sensible & get the right ones in rather than throw cash around we can't afford just to grab hold of the latest 'must have' name

So you are moaning about something that hasn't already happened yet No. I am moaning about something where being in such a vulnerable situation with 1 striker and a lack of quality in the squad to cover our long injury list, I am moaning about where negotiations should of begun a long time ago with signings through the door by now. Are you that nieve that you think clubs only start speaking to played from January 1st - Do you really think that? Edited by Medway Eagle (09 Jan 2018 4.13pm)

We'll approach Liverpool for one of their crocks, haggle about his price for 3 weeks before eventually buying him for £2m cheaper on the final day which will be viewed as a success even though we've lost £7m in price money in the meantime.
We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold... |

Happens every year. Other clubs have signings arranged before the window opens and just complete the paperwork once it starts. We seem to treat the start of the windows as the time to start looking. Who's done business that we should have done???

So even if we end up purchasing 5 by end of January, ones gotta say why not sooner, considering how threadbare we were, with months in advance to tie up at least that second striker quickly. I know its difficult, especially to find a decent striker, but on this particular occasion, I think we should be out there quickly remedying things before we play our next January match. if we have niasse in place by Friday i'll shut up.

Is it not the case that sometimes simply it is like buying a house, whereby the selling club needs their new player before they will let the other one go? Also, Parish alluded to the fact that sometimes it is the players or their agents that are checking their options before committing, with last minute deals often putting them in the strongest position in terms of contract negotiations. Personally I really hope we are quicker off the blocks this time, but without knowing the true picture it is hard to judge.

Judging by the lack of transfer activity in the bottom 10 of the PL we are not the only club not rushing into the market. Looks like the usual bun fight around 31 Jan.

Quote from comments made by manager this morning "We have got to find to find the solution to which player or players we want to bring in, and in which positions. "That's something that the chairman Steve Parish and our sporting director Doug Freeman are working enormously hard on. "I am waiting with bated breath to see who comes through the door so I can get the chance to start working with them. "At the moment we are still sifting through the candidates and they will be put before me." Part of the problem I think in last window was FDB he didn't like who was identified probably including Sakho. Reading between lines I think this was one of reasons SP acted so fast. We were losing games and he didn't like the players he was offered
