Baffling to me that Chelsea would sign Barkley while they have RLC. Just stockpiling those players - maybe we'll be able to loan RLC again next season!

the defensive side of his game/work without the ball is shocking and palace is a great place to improve it. he's not ready for a starting place at a top 6 club so we are a good choice if we offer Chelsea a buy back (allowing us to get him cheap).

I can't help feel that he should be a much better player than he actually is, the potential is there, needs top coaching to get it out of him I suspect.

This guy just needs games.

With experience he will develop....Zaha has been a beacon for this reality....though he did take time to produce more consistently.

No, we have him on a season loan, let him be. We don't want to lure him out from Chelsea, just let him see the season out, and when he goes say 'he's always welcome in our first team, and make an offer towards the start of the new season, after the pre-season, when its clear he's not going beyond being on the bench.

Let them be the ones who 'denied him the chance to play at the top level' and we can be the team that always believed he could, and kept faith with him.

Think this is spot on. Worked out pretty well with Wilf.

Should Celski be willing to do a deal we'd make an offer

Fight for a squad place at chelsea or be at the center of Palaces plans for years to come..

The Barkley signing may put us in a better position. Where as at Palace he'd know if he's fit he'll likely play.

Thats the only question really, how fit is he?

It would be great if he signed for us.

If I were Roy I would point out that he would be a first choice player at Palace. If he goes to a bigger club now I doubt that would be the case. However if he gave us 2 seasons and continues to perform he will get his move to a big club as an established player rather than a young squad player with potential.

All this assuming Chelsea will sell him.

I forgot to mention that this is his first proper season as a first team player. Before that it was a handful of appearances for Chelsea. So yes his fitness and form may dip at times but that is normal for a young player. Handled right I think he has huge potential.

I don't think we could afford him in January, not if we are going to get a striker, defender and (hopefully) keeper.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

He signed a five year contract in 2016; doubling his wages to £64,000 a week.

Maybe a buy back clause would suit all three parties...

RLC gets first team football and knows the door is open to return to Cheslea first team when he's actually wanted.

Chelsea get a decent fee now and know if he's successful they can come back for him at a reasonable cost.

Palace get a few seasons at least at a reduced cost.

£20m with a £40m buy back back. Sign for four years, by back can't be triggered in first 3 seasons...

We'd get a quality midfielder for at least three seasons maybe longer.

We turn a 100% profit when/if he leaves.

Cheslea can watch us finish him knowing they can if they want buy a English Prem midfielder entering his prime for only £20m net cost.
