No harm in planning ahead, so, who's available when Roy leaves?

Its a very good question and i'm not suggesting that I want or that Roy should leave; it was simply a pragmatic thought on my part.

SP certainly made great decisions in TP, Big Sam and Roy...but Roy was pretty much forced on him due to his carefully thought out process going belly up.

As for who is available...I wouldnt worry too much about that; i'd be happy that he has names on a list having done the due diligence that he refreshes every quarter and then when the time comes he can act swiftly and approach the person (whether in a post or not) with the minimum of fuss.

I'm not bashing...so calm down

Roy's barely got his feet under the desk and people are already worrying about who is to replace him. It beggars belief.

After seven games,no points,no goals etc etc we were a laughing stock. Two reasons why we are not, Hodgson has forged a good side with buckets of spirit and secondly his affable style wins friends wether they are Pep Guardiola or journalists. I hope the Roy and Ray combo can continue for a long time to come, speculation to the contrary is unhelpful and divisive.

Hopefully a long way off after Roy's given us a bit of stability and few prize scalps.

He can’t get it right every time Can he. Every club even the biggest in the world, get it wrong on occasion. We’re back on track again now because of his speedy intervention. Let’s concentrate on the good he does instead of nit picking about the few occasions he’s made a mistake. All businesses make mistakes. It’s how they recover from them that makes them a success. SP is great at turning a failure into an opportunity. Finding positives in negatives and moving forward. Hats off to him.

Watching Roy standing out in the driving rain with head uncovered at Southampton I found myself genuinely concerned for his health and well-being. It's not just because of his age nor abilities as a valued coach, it's because he's a likable person too. Pardew: I wouldn't have minded if he had a nasty accident with his little note pad and pen.

Not sure he acted fast to rectify his mistake with Pardew. I'd say the opposite is true.

Yeah, fair point. He hung on with Pardew for a long time because they were mates, but he did get rid of him half-way through the season when there was still time to sort out the problems.

The days after the Burnley game and the Benteke injury at City were probably his greatest low at the club.

It's impossible to know how much of an impact he has around the first team squad, but we were in a position where we were the worst team ever with no striker, a concerning manager, and looking like we were going to be relegated after 5 years with nothing to show for it.

We now have a good chance of staying up, a squad where everyone (bar one striker) is playing probably the best football they ever have and plans for a stand to move the club one big step forward.

Job's not done yet, but in hindsight he made the right calls. Fair play to him for where we are now.

But to be fair it has been a bit hit and miss...

George Burley
Dougie (now rehabillitated it seems)
Holloway
Warnock

And ignoring the caretakers...

Whos available when Roy leaves?

Silly questions really...

Unless your crystal ball tells us when Roy's leaving and then tells us who's available....
