The fella from France Football said on TalkSport that he thought Amadou would suit the Premier League perfectly. Strong, good on the ball & intelligent. Bordeaux are also interested, and have made an offer of around €10M, but Lille would be likely to let him go for nearer €20M. Other teams likely to be in for him too it seems.....

We must have a decent chance of signing him, in that no PL rival seems yet to have appeared, Amadou will know he will have an excellent chance of starting, and he will play in a team that is rapidly improving.

Another reason he may be willing to leave is that he is captaining a team in their bottom 3. I am aware we are cut from a similar cloth, but I don't know enough about the bottom of ligue 1. Would it be like buying a top player from a recently relegated team a la Dann?
