Absolute class. The guy is a legend and we have people supposedly in our ranks who want to undermine what he has done for this club and slate his every move.

I haven't seen anybody undermine him, his legendary status or his beliefs and loyalty.

I have seen a few who have blind love though.

I do get the impression that he has done better than many expected him to do when he was recalled to the team.

He has done fantastic.

I saw him at Swansea. He did two terrific saves but his kicking was so, so poor.

The way the crowd cheers his name is truly fantastic. His reactions and athletesism at nearly 39 is fantastic! A legend, a hero and a truly good man.

Towards the end of his career, David James' kicking deteriorated to the extent that he could barely reach the halfway line - he used to be an excellent kicker of a ball from back passes. Not sure because of wear and tear over the years, injuries he was carrying or whether it was purely due to the advancement of years.

If this is the only problem with Speroni until end of the season then let one of the CB's take goal kicks. It's happened before for ageing keepers.

Don't get me wrong, if our number 1 goalkeeper target is available in January for a reasonable price then go for it but I'm assuming we'll end up with one of the top-6's 4-choice Keepers when we can't entertain the idea of buying the likes of Begovic until Bournemouth know whether they are down or up (much like us).

If that's the case, get Dann to boot the ball and leave super-reflex 90 year old Jules in the net :-)

Its ironic to hear you condemn others for slating our own players.

^^^^^^ hilarious.

What is even more ironic is that nobody has slated Speroni. Nobody.

Although in terms of importance, the Barnes one is probably number 1, two others spring to mind. One was against boro at home a few years back which got a standing ovation from the whole crowd, and another at Brammall Lane which was physics defying.

I don't know if anyone got to see him being interview, he was really good.

Right, quick question - Speroni's most memorable save? I will start the ball rolling.

Away to Brighton in the play off's. Ashley Barnes when the scores were 0-0. It was world class...

I remember him saving a fierce drive from Stanley Matthews in his early years at the club
