and when WBA go into a tailspin, pardew will blame the players, the groundskeepers, the catering staff, the weather, the referee, Planet of the Apes..... everybody except himself.

The obsession with pardew on here is just boring now, I can't belive how much stick people used to give Newcastle fans for it, our fans are the worst. It's already been established that he was instructed to play a more expensive game by parish so maybe the blame may lie there, and the fact we've started this season with one striker maybe the fact we had no LB for half the season wasn't entirely down to pardew either. It's a results business and his results were terrible for the first half of the season and he definitely deserved the sack but look at his win ratio compared to any other manager we've had, taking into account every game was in the top flight in the English leagues most competitive time to date, chuck in an FA cup final and like it or not after sir Steve on paper his our most successful manager. Not that that's a particularly hard feat as we've been pretty terrible throughout our history. I like the guy his not a bad manager, if he was he wouldn't still be getting employed by premier league clubs, I hope he keeps west Brom up, hopefully over Brightons expense and not ours.

Pardew averaged 1.2 points per game as Palace manager. That is exactly the same average as Pulis, Allardyce and Roy Hodgson. I stand by what I said. Originally posted by bexleydave
I'm not sure it's possible to underestimate his league performance in 2016 as it was the worst in Europe.

Pardew will keep them up. He is a great short-term impact manager and seriously under-estimated by some on here. Effectively what AP said when he was appointed “I always create an immediate bounce when I join clubs” - as though he’s got a pointy hat and a wand. However it seems he was wrong on this occasion.

The bookies now have us EIGHTH favourite for relegation. Top three are Swansea, West Brom and Newcastle.
The right place at the right time |
