Utd have plans for Fosu-Mensah by he sounds of it so we're going to have to bring someone in. Though I would definatly be tempted to put 10mil down for him if we have the budget in the summer. Tim leaving will leave RB short of cover.

Especially if Ward leaves as he has shown no sign so far of signing an extension to his contract

Haven't seen a lot of news on extensions this season except for Martin Kelly, maybe the club are just holding off?

I think it will be a balance between the expectations of the player and how much we are willing to pay players who may no longer be considered first team regulars. Ward is still an able lower-table squad player and is only 28, but for me he is too slow nowadays and when he comes up against a quick winger he really struggles. Similarly, Kelly is good back up, but he can be cumbersome and would not be my first choice if everyone is fit.

I wonder if Ward may see this as his last chance to get a big(ger) contract as I can't see him lasting at the top level for more than a few more years. Also, maybe the club want to replace the older squad players with younger options like Jach?

Whatever happens there will likely be plenty of changes this summer.

Felix Passlack isn't playing AT ALL for Hoffenheim (it's not easy, they are using Gnabry as right wing-back lately and he's one of the best prospects in Germany). But Passlack is the best 20 year old fullback that I know of in all of Europe. He is on loan from Borussia, which didn't use him either. They already have 5 fullbacks (Piszczek, Rapha Guerrero, Schmeltzer, Toljan, Durm).

If I could, I'd get Passlack with my eyes closed. I'm telling you, there's absolutely no danger that he won;t play well and Borussia will not ask for a lot of money for a player they don't use.

About Elvedi....he's a very defensive type of player, very tall, more like a center half. We already have those at Palace with Ward and TFM.

I've been watching Nico Elvedi at Gladbach the last couple years...21 with a lot of ability and confidence already. Can also slot into CB in a pinch. Keep an eye on him at the World Cup for the Swiss...

Gladbach can offer him European football most years but they've been in a sell-cycle once players start peaking (i.e. Xhaka, Dahoud, Kruse)

Would be a decent cost to him but well worth it. Possible he'll be getting some interest from a few bigger clubs abroad though so we'll see.

I'm going to the Borussia Monchengladbach v Werder Bremen game in a couple of weeks, I'll keep an eye out for him!

For sure we need to upgrade on quicker players in general. Don't know this German with Polish name, but have seen on numoerous occasions the American right back playing for Newcastle. Yederlin would be just perfect for us and if Newcastle get relegated, who knows...?

He's never worth 10m

Agreed. Infact I think hes terrible. Just watch him. He has no positional awareness and 9 out of 10 passes go astray.

But he's quick and all the football manager players think he's the best rb in the league

I'd say we have Ward he's got more time in him yet.

Plus hopefully next season Wan-Bissaka can be at least third choice RB.

So yes we could probably do with another body for second choice RB fighting it out with Ward, until hopefully Wan-Bissaka makes the position his own in a couple seasons time.

Possibly Patrick burner from Nice? Has Europa League experience, is only 21, wins a good amount of tackles and aerials without giving out too many free kicks. He only plays around a third of Nice’s matches in Ligue 1, so he wouldn’t be too expensive.

Speroni would've saved it!
