The final thing third was the big difference today. We'd had the defence and midfield going a lot better last few games: we have a system where people know their job better - from Kelly, sakho, Dann, ward, Tompkins, schlupp we can keep the back pretty safe. From Cabaye (very pleased to see him fit today) , Jimmy, Luka in midfield then we can push on. Rlc through the middle is the right Choice I think. Looked so balanced today, could properly build pressure through through the field for 3 open play goals. We've remembered how to play football. Let's keep remembering against swansea and anything VS. Arsenal and city is a bonus. What was that n London team we beat 3 nil at home last season? Bet we've got them asking themselves some questions

Why does it matter? Why dwell on the past? Focus on the present and be excited for the future.

Under FdB, we seemed to be passing for the sake of passing. The was very little running at the opposition defense and putting them under pressure. The defense, with 3 at the back, was totally shambolic. Roy junked that and was bolstered by the Sakho deal. He's also raised the player's confidence level and re-established the organized play that Big Sam instituted. I was concerned going in to today's match with the injuries to the back but they played Leicester off the pitch. Roy has proven to be a realist about what he has to work with and has put a system in place that suits the players rather than FdB's insistence that the players adjust to his style. Staying up now seems a lot more realistic than it did a month ago. That doesn't mean that we don't need a successful January window to bring in players, particularly a keeper, defender and attacker. I'm happy to stick with Jules through January and sell Wayne provided a top quality keeper is brought in. It just seems the side plays with more confidence with Jules right now. Well said.

He saved us and then left (shows unrest) De boer came in and dragged us to hell and now Roy has come in and I agree with you , levelled things off but I think this goes back to pardew ripping the soul out the squad at the time Big Sam didn't save us. We got worse under him until late on. We were never in the relegation zone under Pardew that season and we would have stayed up if he had stayed.

The appointment of Frank, piss poor pre season preparation and an absolute joke of a transfer window. Pardew started the slide and sadly Parish made one or two very poor decisions when Sam left. Roy and the back room team have in my opinion have had to start 8 games behind every other team with the transfer window well and truly bolted shut. I just hope that Parish supports Roy in the transfer window with whoever he feels needs to come in. COYP

Well said. I've a hunch that Wickham is broken beyond repair. Such a shame.

Frank De Boer was what went wrong, we are very lucky we pulled the trigger on him so early or else we would have missed out on Roy. There is going to be more managers sacked soon and there is no-one decent to replace them with.
