As if to prove my point, look at our impact sub. Bakary Sako - An overweight slob who is barely Championship standard. Edited by Tez (12 Dec 2017 9.33pm) Next weekend - start this thread again - but they're ALL overweight slobs!!
You fed me, you bred me, I'll remember your name. |

Well I think Simon's head is large; always involved in espionage. (Name that tune) |

I still screamed the place down when that second goal went in believe me. Going to bed with a smile on my face but I still stand by everything I said in the first post, we were outplayed and could have been 3 or 4 nil down. Hopefully this is the bit of luck we've needed to kick start our season.

We were very poor tonight agreed. But we've played well in games and got nothing so we were due some luck. Agreed about Schlupp... The guy is so bas it's ridiculous. RLC is wasted out wide as well. He needs to be central. Benteke was crap again. We will be lucky to get 10 million for him now.
Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |

We might not be great but we're not one of the worst 3 teams in this division

A bit of perspective is important. We played badly today but we've played well this season and not got what we deserved. Five mins to go and I was giving up on getting a result. The lads around me said - to their credit - no we can still do it. We now know they were right. Our shape wasn't right IMO but what do I know? Out of the zone. Let's get another result this weekend and it'll be a very merry Christmas

Many on here seem to think that we are too good to go down, that our squad is better than others, that we'll get out of the relegation scrap in the end. Without rose-tinted glasses on, can you tell me who in our squad is good enough for a top 10 side? Let's look at our starting 11 today: Speroni - Decent at shot shopping, pretty crap at kicking, very small, no command of his penalty area. Should be retired. Fosu-Mensah - On loan, not convincing. Milivojevic - Decent enough. The other problem is our f***ing stupid formation and insistence on playing inverted winners. If you play with inverted wingers you need your full backs to overlap. Ours never, ever, ever overlap, so we have no width, the middle of the pitch is congested and we always lose the ball. We never cross the ball, despite buying Benteke who can literally only score with his head. We aren't good enough and we're going down. You obviously seem not to have noticed that this formation we are now playing has seen us go 6 games unbeaten, when was the last time that happened.

The following are excellent. McArthur, especially as a sub. Dann has lost some pace and some confidence but is still a quality central defender. Delaney, unfortunately, has rather lost it. My only complaint about McArthur was that he usually only lasted about 70 minutes. But people who think we have no impact players off the bench - he was f***ing outstanding tonight. Oh, and we're not trying to be a top ten side, right now. We're trying to stay in the division.

O.K who in that Burnley squad would get into those top teams sides? They are fourth and the reason for that is that they play as a team. We are not as bad as you make out, are you aware we have not been beaten in 6 games? I think if you look at current form table you will be surprised. Cheer up chum!
