Well that's bad news. They dress it up as the 2 clubs fighting over Trapp. Long story short, Palace may be interested but if Liverpool are also then they will get him. Now, Simon Mignolet at Palace if this happens? That's possibly more intriguing. On the face of it I'm sure a lot will scream NO because of some awful performances for Liverpool but he was always top notch at Sunderland and some players, Goalkeepers in particular, can fold under immense pressure like playing for a team of Liverpool's side. It's a big mental game and little things like knowing his team Liverpool, were in a position to beat Arsenal the other night and as long as he can have a good game, they will win and he goes and makes a terrible mistake. At Palace, if we were 2-1 up to Arsenal at the Emirates, the general consensus would be we will still lose the game anyway, if that's not going through his mind and he can concentrate on goal-keeping, maybe he doesn't make any errors and helps us win. All speculative but you don't just go from very good keeper to one of the worst in the league over night. Heaven forbid.

Of course Mignolet would be excellent for us. The "top" pressure will be off him and I have no doubt he would be brilliant. How financially viable is another matter though. Can't seeing Klopp letting him go. Played last night after a horrific ricket at the Arse. Here's a quote from last night : "Indeed, Reds goalkeeper Simon Mignolet pulled off a great fingertip save to deny Tammy Abraham with the last touch of the game." Other choices are Gazzaniga or Vorm or Grant. However my shout for the beginning of the season was Begovic and he also made a rick yesterday as well. Where is the Safest Hands in Soccer when you need him ? Edited by Booted Eagle (27 Dec 2017 2.25pm)

Edited by Tyrelli (10 Jan 2018 10.08am) I think there would be a mountain to climb, in order to get him.
