I suppose in the circumstances we managed that. We didn't really replace him though. Benteke is a better striker in a traditional and technical sense but he doesn't bully defences or create much himself. Niasse might have done that, if he jacked in his acting career.

Both were unhappy with not playing & you have to respect their decisions that they want to go elsewhere to get playing time especially after what they had done for the club. Also we got good money for both & helped us keep within the FFP rules which Parish commented on after Murray was sold.

I thought it was a three year contract offered by Bournemouth that tempted Murray ... as well as the prospect of regular first team football. We couldn't offer either.
