Very humorous to those of us in New York who have to put up with weekend diversions that make riding public transport here akin to Russian roulette. Besides, from Balham you have direct service to Norwood Junction and West Croydon.

Rudi, you seem a bit jealous of the yuppie/hipsters people that live in Balham. This shows a pretty good example of how someone sees an Internet post and jumps to a conclusion based on a shaky assumption then everyone else follows. I was simply trying to say that no trains from Clapham Junction were stopping south of Balham in an attempt to help others who's journey may be affected.

If you lived in Balham you'd probably never go to Croydon. That may change when it's raised to the ground and a new shopping complex covers the whole lot from west Croydon station to George Street, and all land the whitgift centre and central covers, east to west. Well, as I've always said about it: you can't polish a turd.

Have you lost your sense of humour or is everyone in Balham uptight about it? A bit of self deprecating humour may have gone down quite well. Oh well.
