How much will he cost?

Surely you don't think we should blow all our money on one player rather than spread it across strengthening the whole squad..?

Got no idea but if we can shift some of the deadwood, and we have mucho plenty of that, then maybe that will help to finance it. Plus, if we stay up that's another Ģ130mill coming our way.

Everyone is keen to pay up and sign great players but still moan that our squad isn't deep.

Sounds like we want our cake and to eat it.

Let's spunk our money on RLC and then slag the owners as our second and third choice aren't the same cut....

Of course there not gonna be...

I am all for signing the lad. Just saying we can't have everything.

We have plenty of players in the squad who would be barely good enough for The Championship. They are a drain on our resources not a filip. Youth, up and coming from lower leagues and cheap imports should be the name of the game for the second XI but that would take some planning and foresight now. Should have been done years ago.

Missed some good chances pre injury when clearly our best player and post injury being played away from the middle. The guy's only played 20 odd times. He is clearly quality, with a few areas needing improvement but this is the most competitive league. Get quality around him on his wavelength with defending on the def mid rather than our third and he can do the business.

His stats are pretty good, but not outstanding yet. But at a bare minimum he is worth persisting with. When Benteke comes back his assists should further improve

Years ago we tried to attract players to play for a newly promoted club.. and had to play handsome wages to average players.

those players are now a drain on us.. agreed. but at the time needs must.

Oh and a load of s*** pardew signings.

but in essences those players who aren;t good enough, are basically cheap players we took a chance on. Just like your saying we should do, buy lower league players and hope they turn out to be better than championship players. Sign more average players and hope they turn out better and hope the ones that don't can be moved on rather than weigh us down.

In principle what you say is spot on. Buy cheap players that are gonna be good. Reality is every player you get wrong, you can't move on, without buying them out or taking a hit.

But yeah it sounds simple.... hopefully our director of football can kick the squad in to shape as imo Pardew made a right hash of it.

8 apps....no assists, no goals.

He's promising but the hype about him is far in advance of an actual sign of any end product at all.

Hopefully his well thought of England debut will result in some actual changes to the stats above.

If he ends this season with any favourable impression that even touches the current hype then of course there is no hope of signing him.

Hype brings fantasy figures.

Unless we climb the table which is not looking likely, he won't be staying.

From what I saw for England, first half he was pretty influential, one or two wonderful incisive passes.
second half he seemed to lose direction. He received the ball well, made space with a clever touch, then passed it backwards or sideways.

He's got huge talent, and is only young, but his game needs some work. Needs to start turning his performances into assists/goals.

Even if we finish in the top 1o, i doubt he would even want to stay at Palace, he certainly will get offers from bigger clubs

I thought we asked to have a 'first option' as part of the loan deal but the figure we were quoted effectively ruled us out so we didnt pursue it further.

Based on the current ludicrous market he as to worth upwards of Ģ20m on potential alone

As a Chelsea fan ( hello btw) i canīt see a scenario where we sell him. He was made the poster boy for our academy, and has always been extremely highly rated at our club, which is why he is on extremely high wages(60-80k per week) for a youngster.
People like to claim that we donīt give our youth players a chance which is true( although thatīs largely the fault of the managers), but we also have shown that we are willing to integrate players that have been succesfull on loan with players like Christensen, who is from our academy, and has played a s*** ton this season, and has probably been our best CB after Azpi, and Courtois, and to an extent, even Moses.
So if RLC continues to play like he is doing this season, i am 100% certain that he will be given a chance next season.
Also, regarding his lack of end product, i think itīs worth pointing out that he should have at least 4-5 assists if your team knew how to finish, i mean, the chances Benteke wasted that Ruben put on a plate for him was simply ridiculous, and donīt forget that he also hit the post against City, so itīs not like he isnīt contributing
