Has been excellent. A bit quieter in the last quarter of an hour or so as dropped a bit deeper, but some excellent balls and marauding forward.

BBC MOTM.

Want Tekers back so that Wilf can go back to the wing and Loftus-Cheek can do what he's been doing here.

Glenn Hoddle saw a lot in him tonight as gave him MOTM and rightly so. Great composure and passing for his debut. In the 2nd half many of his team mates were looking for him and he consequently had a lot of the ball and used it well, finding his man all the time. Only small issue looks a little languid at times. Needs to push on further forward occasionally as he has the ability. Overall a great debut. Brilliant to think we have this type of player until the end of the season, just need to get the most out of him.

Working fine. Ta. I didn't rate RLC at Chelsea but he has turned me. He is having a lot of help getting his career to new heights before actually achieving much so I hope he grasps all the opportunities.

?????????? You didn't rate him at chelsea! What are you basing that on, the 2.5 games he played.

As to some comments about him being lazy.

I wouldn't completely disagree. I wouldn't say he's lazy per se but more that he can do more and with his talent he should be. At times tonight he lays it off and should be looking for the next run rather than admiring his pass.

I think on the TV they said RLC has only played 20 odd first class games. All things considered I think he had a great debut. He now needs to carry that on for the rest of the season and then we will see. Most of the other debutantes did well to varing degrees. I think Southgate was right in picking an inexperienced squad. We are not going to learn anything by picking a Defoe or a Milner.

Southgate said though in his interview that Loftus-Cheek had been an important member of the junior England squads and he had seen plenty of him there and how well he had played in under-whatever matches. So actually he had a lot more to go on in picking him than has been suggested.

Languid. Great word.

RLC will now be thinking of a World Cup place, which should ensure he tries to give everything for the Palace.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Great game for England against the world champs despite the "experts" earlier on this thread saying he is a "lazy git", "could do more" etc. He was of course MOTM on ITV but that was Glen Hoddle's choice who, despite his eccentric views on reincarnation, was quite a good footballer!!

No, the 22. You must be thinking of someone else. Or are a bit pissed.
