I realised that was the point you were making Willo, just pointing out that so much time is wasted by players that with the VAR we will at least get correct decisions and only a minimum of time used.. shame something can't be done about the cheating and feigning injury to waste time and get opposition players sent off..

In Germany there have been a string of poor decisions as a result of video reviews so it won't stop any arguments. At the end of the day if supporters are judging referees decisions based on replays, then as long as players continue to try and deceive referees then one can understand the argument that officials should be given the same technological tools. It certainly won't be a panacea because subjectivity enters the equation.

Nobody tried to deceive the referee last night, the Swiss players didn't even appeal for the penalty. The ball was hit straight at the player from a couple of yards away, and his arm was not out, so even if it had hit him on the arm, it was still not handball by any stretch of the imagination. This referee f***ed the tie up all by himself. Remember he also bottled a stonewall straight red in the first half.

With respect, I never advocated that there was any attempt to deceive in relation to the penalty incident.

Their criticism is based on the time that is taken to come to a decision. There is no time limit.

Es war den ganzen Tag lang eine Strafe. Wie Sie sehen können, kümmere ich mich nicht um die Iren.

Admit it, Willo. He was f***ing s***e. To get allocated an International of such significance one has to have performed with some aplomb over a period of time but like us all we can have days when we don't maintain the high standards we have set in the workplace. When one is making split-second decisions in a fast-moving game there is always the possibility that one's decisions are shown to be at variance with the conclusions drawn after umpteen 'Slow-Mo' replays.

ITYM "Es war den ganzen Tag eine Strafe. Wie Sie sehen, die Iren interessieren mich gar nicht". "All day long" is "den ganzen Tag", doesn't need "lang". Oh, and bollocks, as well.
