That's not his fault. If he wins the aerial ball, why is there nobody there to assist?

He's gone to newcastle

Like I said he does divide opinions but I believe he is only second to AJ as our highest premier league goalscorer, I hope this time out has given him his hunger back as I believe under Frank he was never going to prosper.

It was Scott Dann that he mugged.....about the only thing that Villa did all game as I recall (with a shudder).

Glad Tekkers is back, but it gives Roy a wee selection headache.

Well I think Simon's head is large; always involved in espionage. (Name that tune)

Am I the only one very underwhelmed by his returning?

Benteke 2017 is a very different animal from Benteke 2014 when with Villa. The former is now an older slow moving hyena feeding off scraps whereas a latter was a young and very successful preying lion.

I know, we're doing fine accumulating all these points without a striker.

He and the players aren't going to immediately gel together under Roy, but they probably will. Without a striker we've no chance. With one we might do it or run out of time. That's Parish's January headache seeing as it was avoidable, yet again.

The problem was the supply and Benteke being isolated. That wasn't the case at villa.

Good luck Roy. You'll need some.

Benteke did score 15 PL goals for us last season which is not bad at all, especially as we were a struggling team.

What are you going on about? The argument was that he ‘wins so few headers’. The stat completely proves that statement wrong. How can he be blamed if no one wins the second ball? Ludicrous.

What I mean and the stat people count as winning differ. I mean we win the ball ultimately as a result of his header, where as they mean he gets his head first to the ball, which results in a misleading stat.

He doesn't take full blame for his inefficacy, it's also how we use him that counts, so it's the managers fault too. I think Roy will make more of him as a ball player and not some beanpole target to always mindlessly hit the ball at like under Frank. That looked to be the case against City.

Benteke from his Villa days was a monster, now he loses the ball too easy and his touch is simply not good enough. Talks about Chelsea interested? Take 45 mill and get Ulloa (Leicester) and Ings (Liverpool) for much less in January...maybe tempt Chelsea to sell RLC as well.

Ings has not played for over a year and has only made 12 apps since the start of the 2015/16 season.

Didn't Benteke have Agbanlahor and/or Weimann near him? Who's Benteke had? 2 CBs and a def mid mopping up. We all know Pardew couldn't get the most out of his signings and for a while when Sam did.
