None of the politicians are fit for anything, they are all self serving egotists who don't represent anyone It's a broken system

I don't know, I haven't read the act. However its a legal act of parliament from a democratically elected government. Let's not mess around with all that stuff. Do you think Britain is a poor country? Or is poverty relative? Do you think that people will always feel poor when someone else has a lot more? Edited by Hrolf The Ganger (07 Nov 2017 1.26pm)

'you cannot create wealth by dividing wealth' Aah the old politics of envy line , the twin brother of champagne socialist. If you moan when youre skint youre jealous, if you look out for others but can support yourself and your family you have no right to be looking out for the poor. Tell me, who is left?

You do get a sort of 'equality' with socialism - everyone ends up poor.

Not really to do with the current Government though is it. Relative though as so many want the one that can deliver what hedgehog says.

Is the current opposition the most inept, useless, lying and downright incompetent opposition there has been in living memory? Was waiting at a bus stop in Oxford and a group of teenagers walked past shouting “vote labour”. Pretty confident they will win the next election as Corbyn appeals far more to the young and people might fancy something different by then. Don’t feel like I have a die hard affiliation to any party. Would like a society that looks after its weakest and rewards hard work but does not gift a sense of entitlement. Don’t see any of them ticking all the boxes. If the tories want to stay in power they have to sell themselves to the young and do something to arrest the ever increasing wealth gap. Saw an excellent documentary on the BBC the other day about the super rich. From memory I think they said in the 7o’s the top 1% owned 10% of the nations wealth. These days it’s around 23%. There shouldn’t be hard working people “just about managing”. Something is very wrong with the current model. A couple of experts explained that a happy society with a healthy economy relied on a robust, affluent middle class as the super rich did a very good job of hordeing their wealth. More dribble down economics than trickle down. It’s not communism asking the top 1% to contribute more to society. If that means they f*** off to another country, so be it. A new model will have to emerge and someone will fill their place. They may make UK plc’s balance books look rosey but if it’s at the expense of stripping wealth from all those below them and the poor getting poorer i’d rather a less healthy balance sheet.

Harry, I think that is a very good post.
