None of the politicians are fit for anything, they are all self serving egotists who don't represent anyone

It's a broken system

I don't know, I haven't read the act. However its a legal act of parliament from a democratically elected government.

Let's not mess around with all that stuff.

Do you think Britain is a poor country? Or is poverty relative?

Do you think that people will always feel poor when someone else has a lot more?

Yes yes yes that is exactly how it is holf.
Until the left supporters actually get the socialist mantra and their aims that will be, and is the thought process.
Politics of envy
" You've got one ,so I want one" even if you earnt it with hard work and sweat and stress.
" I deserve one just because "

'you cannot create wealth by dividing wealth'

Aah the old politics of envy line , the twin brother of champagne socialist.

If you moan when youre skint youre jealous, if you look out for others but can support yourself and your family you have no right to be looking out for the poor.

Tell me, who is left?

I think the main point nick was that the term skint means what....
There are different levels of all situations.
I don't cross over the road
I have helped and will help people in need.
As an analogy
Holf asked does skint mean no sky TV and what may be presumed as not lifes necessaties.
I'm not getting into a debate I just agreed to a post which I believe to be right.
What you are presuming is that I look down my nose at less ' fortunate ' people.
I was one when I was on my arse with a kid 25 years ago. In court having my home repoed beans on toast, all that matey so I have been there.
I have got back on my feet and am still only just above water but not sinking.
And if you want to argue the wealth bit about dividing to create then crack on.
Look around at countries where it was tried and failed.
Zimbabwe Venezuela to name two.
In Zimbabwe the farms were stolen ,all the animals eaten then realised that they didn't know the first thing about farming, but had a great few months!!!!
Look at it now.
I am entitled to my opinion and you to yours.
On that note I'm going beddy byes cos gotta get up at stupid o'clock for work to pay for things like a phone and a second hand car.
I hope you have a pleasant evening yourself.
Goodnight

Just to clarify, I wasn't looking down my nose. Sleep tight.

You do get a sort of 'equality' with socialism - everyone ends up poor.

Not really to do with the current Government though is it.

Morning
Been up a while so bright eyed and bushy tailed

Nick I'm not sure on that line.
I thought you said in a roundabout way in your post that I looked down my nose at others. Not you.

Maybe I read it wrong!?!?

Relative though as so many want the one that can deliver what hedgehog says.
That type of equality throughout society.

Is the current opposition the most inept, useless, lying and downright incompetent opposition there has been in living memory?
McDonnell: out and out Marxist who would wreck the economy.
Dianne Abbott: Does anyone seriously want that incompetent idiot as Home Secretary?
Kelvin Hopkins: shadow minister suspended over rape allegations.
Brexit: what exactly is Labour’s policy – do they have one?
Corbyn: Would rather have a scarecrow in Number 10 – would be less damaging to the country.

Was waiting at a bus stop in Oxford and a group of teenagers walked past shouting “vote labour”. Pretty confident they will win the next election as Corbyn appeals far more to the young and people might fancy something different by then.

Don’t feel like I have a die hard affiliation to any party. Would like a society that looks after its weakest and rewards hard work but does not gift a sense of entitlement. Don’t see any of them ticking all the boxes. If the tories want to stay in power they have to sell themselves to the young and do something to arrest the ever increasing wealth gap. Saw an excellent documentary on the BBC the other day about the super rich. From memory I think they said in the 7o’s the top 1% owned 10% of the nations wealth. These days it’s around 23%. There shouldn’t be hard working people “just about managing”. Something is very wrong with the current model. A couple of experts explained that a happy society with a healthy economy relied on a robust, affluent middle class as the super rich did a very good job of hordeing their wealth. More dribble down economics than trickle down. It’s not communism asking the top 1% to contribute more to society. If that means they f*** off to another country, so be it. A new model will have to emerge and someone will fill their place. They may make UK plc’s balance books look rosey but if it’s at the expense of stripping wealth from all those below them and the poor getting poorer i’d rather a less healthy balance sheet.

Harry, I think that is a very good post.
