I don't think it's deserved as Idon't think he's been amazing enough to get called up. Zaha probably the only player who's been very very good for us this season. Saying that tho England are average anyway and we don't have world class players to call up.
Agreed Miles. Think he is a decent player but its easy to look good in a poor side. He does not stand out when we are playing well. Southgate is trying to bring youngsters through that under previous management would not have got a look in. Wilf must be kicking himself. He was not good enough at the time but has improved enough to now be considered.

Unlikely as it was before, it would now make it nigh on impossible to sign him permanently. Quite the opposite. Finally got recognition while in his first season playing regularly. He will need regular games to nail down an England spot. If we stay up Southgate will tell him to go somewhere where he is getting regular games.

He chose to play for the country where he was born and where his family came from. I suspect he takes great pride in playing for them. Would he make a different decision now if he could? I really don't know. Is it necessarily so much better to play for England?

Floats in and out of matches too much when he should be in the thick of it for 90+ mins. Yet another case of reputation being more important than form. Saying that, he should easily surpass footballing neanderthal Henderson. Cheek's hardly played over the last few years, compared to Alli for example, so hopefully the extra game time will help him progress during the short time he's with us. He hasn't played 90 for some time due to injury but when he did, in a struggling side, he was our best player.

England are short of options to to provide back up to Ali in the No 10 role with Lallana and Barkley injured and Rooney retired so I think RLC is worth a shout. Lingard certainly has not warranted his selection based on this season's performances at club level - rarely starts and makes little impact of the bench but he's a Southgate favourite. I don't think Abraham is ready and, personally, I think Ashley Young is a bit of a backward step.

He did, he played against Sweden and Scotland but crucially they never played him in a competitive game. These two upcoming games are non-competitive games also. Yeah, I meant in a competitive game. I didn't make that very clear

has great potential but not much end product yet. I prefer McArthur for the situation we are in. More energy, more fight, more experience, more willing to do vitally important donkey work for the team. If RLC were ours I'd say persist with him. But he aint. (Clearly, with minutes, he can be a special talent but that's not our problem just now).
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

Andros should have been called up, he’s been superb all season and works his socks off!
