The problem we've got is that the 3 promoted teams have all got something about them and are very competitive. Trying to find 3 worse teams than us is difficult

Van Aanholt looks like a proper headless chicken. Schlupp is also erratic. We need someone solid and dependable.

Lots of promoted teams start well and fade. Some even start poorly and improve. Luckily the results every week are predictable and go the way we expect in the prem, so we all already know who's gonna finish where.

If we hadn't bought them last season we'd have gone down. End of argument. We, of course, paid over the odds because it was the January window and clubs knew our situation. Van Aanholt keeps finding good positions. Hopefully he'll get his head in gear and it will start happening for him. That's stretching it a bit. They helped but were hardly the stuff of half-season legends. So far they have cost us £30mill between them. Bonkers.

So Alladyce knows nothing about left backs, yeah. Bulls***! PvA played very well last week and today he did well, bar missing a glorious chance to score. So we'll say he's s*** becos he missed a great chance. No credit for busting his balls trying to get up to support the attack, no. Schlupp did his job again, working hard and trying to win it in the air as we had no one else. Edited by Dangermouse (21 Oct 2017 6.38pm) to be fair dangermouse its all relative isnt it, you expect a lot from £14m full backs on £80k a week and they are defo not living up to their transfer fee or wages, and didnt even last season. we got ripped of big time, its not their fault but they yave to justify their fees & wages to be accepted, and rightly so.

Sorry - I was a bit zealous with the end of argument bit but we had a no left side and a lack of pace. Honestly think we'd have gone down. But yes not great value.

No need to apologise you were just putting forward your view which mostly i agree with. I am glad they came and they helped a bit with survival but am just very concerned that our club paid so much for them. We moaned about Jordon Mutch at £5mill and £50k a week. He suddenly seems like a bargain Edited by Kermit8 (21 Oct 2017 8.56pm)

Problem is it should've been addressed before and no doubt cheaper and 1 less signing that would've given more funds this summer. Whether that would've been used properly after scouting well again is another question. I've never quit on us and have lambasted people for doing so on here but this season it's going to happen. I couldn't get carried away after Chelsea and even if we beat West Ham we're likely to lose v Spurs and the others negate the West Ham win. We'll probably draw v West Ham just to prolong the hope that kills you.

If fans are dissatisfied with the left backs we bought last January then blame BFS for buying them. The players are what they are blame the judgement of the purchaser in this case BFS.
