What a professional. He has spent the best part of two years playing fvck all yet has kept himself in shape and mind sharp in case he was called on for a day like today. Wayne - nice guy though that he is - would not be anywhere near what was required today if he had been out to pasture for 24 months.

If we were gonna upgrade from Jules we had to go for someone who was obviously better. Wayne isn't. Totally agree. WH just isn’t PL quality - Jules is. Lifted the ground today and while his ability is receding, he’s still better. Those blaming him for the goal today clearly have no idea how hard it is to save a header into the ground. He also led the players over to the Holmesdale at the end after ‘captain’ Puncheon disappeared straight down the tunnel. There are good reasons why he’s a legend. It doesn’t just happen!
You'll be forever in my family's memories and it was an honor and privilege to play and lead in the red and blue |

It was great that he dragged the rest of the players over to applaud the Holmesdale. Quality man.

He would have been to blame IF it hadn't had been a totally free header which was guided with all the time in the world. But it was so he is 100% blameless.

We weren't being stupidly bias a few years back when we were all saying he was good enough for Argentina.

Not sure why Wayne wasn't playing today? But would be suprised if Jules doesn't now get a couple games to try to make the shirt his own.

It's his attitude that's the foundation for his and our loyalty to each other. To come back from that Everton error in the prem all those years ago, be sidelined by Kiraly and eventually come back to prove you can is everything we are and always have been. Forget the premature projects of Pardew and Frank. Wilf and puncheon were right in front of the HF in that video. ''We can't forget who we are.'' Plus speroni's a humble man and has made good friends with certain fans of the club and in the area and church they recommended he moved into. (He doesn't live in a church but I think I could kneel before Speroni) Edited by Rudi Hedman (14 Oct 2017 9.51pm)
