And I think the way we played today was remarkably close to what FDB wanted.

This. For players who can't play a "passing gsme' they did pretty well today...

I'm pretty much of the opinion he was the wrong appointment in the first place but I would have liked to see him have more time in retrospect.

Bangell - If Camus wrote The Myth of Sisyphus today, it would be about Jason Puncheon eternally trying and failing to pass with his right foot.

Not sure if they all did. A few have spoken out for him since he left. McArthur for one. Think opinion was divided. Fdb worked out our weaker players v quickly... Beside puncheon anyway... And made them know about it.

Some would say bullying but a generation or two back that would be the norm.

Players played their hearts out against Burnley too... That wasn't the way a team plays to sack a manager.

It was. Hambo says it isn't defending the club as ever but I'm saying it was then from someone there.

I'm almost there with you. I never wanted or thought he'd be right. But I'd have monitored it game by game. I don't think it would've worked but it might've meant a healthier position than sacking him and the Southampton game etc. He should've been given a rocket up his &Arsenal right after Swansea or the minute he waffled on how we suited 3-4-fecking 3.

Pace - the best defenders on the planet struggle against pace. Wilf and Andros were outstanding.

Their body shape was awful when we were running at them. Was like they hadn't defended before. International breaks for ya.

There were times when we had a crossing opportunity but nobody in the box, which is a bit like what playing Benteke has been lately. And I think Wilf could hardly stand at the end. But a lot of the time it was like having an extra man, even if it wasn't a specialist centre-forward. Wilf and Andros were f***ing outstanding. Loftus-Cheek can play that game too.

Roy is going to have to keep evolving this because it'll get stopped. But we have cheek coming back.

Today it suited playing vs a back 3. Leave the Central man alone and take the Lcb or rcb one on one and, as said, take it in turns to make the box. Cheek will be better, fitter, smarter and more technical than Jimmy trying it or andros or Zaha.

Wilf became a cf in the 2nd half because the game changed and he wasn't as effective, but:

Wilf has got to get his head down when he he's in on goal with man behind him. Put him under pressure to foul in the box rather than worrying about the finish. He's rusty and this is new again so stuff to work on but with cheek as well it could get better.

Well we saw yesterday that Ward is not a "poor player" but de Boer destroyed his confidence and pardewed him in abkut five minutes flat. And how you get s*** performances out of someone like Milivojevic I don't know. Puncheon as you say he insisted was key but look what we were like without him. And God knows what he's done to Benteke.

De Boer was f***ing s*** and yesterday's game proves it.

Totally agree. How not to motivate your workforce: tell them they are s***.

Its gonna be real interesting to see RLC come back in (i hope), as him breaking in to the box along side what we had yesterday really sounds like it'll be a strong side.

Personally i hope in Jan we buy both a traditional striker and another winger type forward.

Really don't think we need to put serious money down on another target man, we have two its just unlucky they're both injured.

We need top quality cover for Andros and Wilf and a proper center forward who's quick, clever and lethal at finishing. Or possibly buy one that can play both roles very well.

As much as i wanted Frank to succeed, i'd have totally agree. He was a shocking 'manager' as all he seemed to do was rapidly undo everything Sam had put in place. Destroyed numerous players confidence and then assumed his formation would some how win the day on its on.

When all that failed he done a pardew and hung it on the players.

I doubt he'll ever manage at a high level again, certainly not in the Prem.

Lets hope yesterday was the first signs that Roy has quickly managed to turn the ship around.

We've decent players, they just need to play in position and given confidence through proper training.

When one of our wingers was on the wing... The other would go central and be the false 9. Was fantastic tactical mindedness from Roy.

It was a great idea given the options he had and agree that Roy deserves a lot of credit. First time I've ever heard of a false number nine.
