Not really, there is a world of difference between making a pass at someone and sexual harassment.
Nothing wrong with making a pass or suggesting to someone 'to go back to your room etc'.

Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I usually flirt a bit, and if the flirting starts going somewhere start to get a bit more on. Rather than going straight to a grope, or exposing myself.

I

It's usually whether the person concerned likes it or not.

Let's face it, who hasn't done similar in a night club? How else are you meant to get a shag, if you don't ask ?

You engaging in a 2am gash dash is very different to a man who can make or break someones career and overtly requesting sex. That's him abusing is position of power, which makes it non-consensual if the woman accedes only because she thought her career was on the line.

And, let's face it, Weinstein isn't going to get much pussy on looks.

I say mostly because I can't stand the opportunity feminists and SJWs use to waffle their moralizing and ideology.

I also don't like that everyone who was connected and knew comes out to kick him now he's down but not earlier. All looking for pats on the back.

Sure Jamie makes a good point about not damaging your career.....But you can't have your cake and eat it and have any class......If you are going to dance with the devil you can't then present yourself as whiter than white. Not in my book anyway.....You become tinted with his colours.

But I have little sympathy for this guy myself (other than a small concern that he may be suicidal). Mainly because he so obviously didn't have a concern for others himself.

People like this who abuse their power and exploit others for their own benefit entirely deserve what they get.

A good rule of thumb in this, or any situation, really: don't blame the victim.

Generally yes, yet I also believe, in some instances not all, that you can be both a victim and also be complicit in being that victim due to your larger motivations....'fame with blow job or no fame....they chose blow job'.

But you are still a victim yes.

In blaming the victim (again) you successfully explained exactly why they are a victim and not complicit.

As in, why the f*** should an actress have to give a blow job to get an acting role for which she is eminently qualified? Paltrow and Jolie have won Oscars, but standing in the way of that peer recognition of their talent was Weinstein's dick, hanging out of a bathrobe.

Yes, why indeed should they? So go to the Police and report the guy.

But oh no......no, going to the police.....Instead they take the calculation....the next girl can suffer....I won't take any hit...look the other way.

And excuse me mate.....Some of those actress didn't even have this choice in its entirity.....They didn't give the blow job and instead walked out and indeed went onto famous careers......Did they say a peep? No they didn't.....Calculation....Self interest....complicity......Still, victims...but complicit....excepting that actress who did go to the Police.

When the guy is getting the kicking......That's when they lend an extra foot.

You have you black and white if you want to.....This guy is an arsehole....But for me he's just a bigger arsehole in an industry jam packed with self obsessed, self righteous, warm worded hypocritical smaller arseholes.

You just can't help yourself: it's the victim's fault that they did it; it's the victim's fault that they didn't go to the police; some actresses may have said no and still been ok; and, the cherry on top, the whole industry is full of people you don't like so f*** them all.

Basically, justice is only merited for people who you deem worthy. That speaks volumes about you.

Here's a fun little primer on why you are so very wrong: [Link]

Nope, you are trying massive reductionism here and falsely summarizing my position.

Weinstein is the guy who should suffer for the consequences of his actions here. It's you using the word, 'blame' in relation to victims. I've recognised that every girl subjected to his advances is a victim. But unlike your absurd need for zealotry that ignores details I recognise what has gone on.

As for your personal attack on me.

This year many babies will bleed to death because circumcision is legal in your country. I don't support that....you do support the circumcision of infants....babies who have no control over their precious lives.

When it comes to volume mate, yours is deafening.

Girls who wear sexual clothing have no complicity for being attacked.

If they are attacked by a person they know....and they say and do nothing about it because that man is useful to them. Then they are still victims but they have been complicit in allowing this man to continue.

So sorry that real life isn't black and white for you Ray.

I do see where you're coming from and in an ideal situation, yeah but lets face it the police will probably do f**k all. Michael Jackson managed to avoid prison and the damnation of the press, despite being a child sex offender - people will still defend him to this day.

Truth is, in the US (and to a lesser extent here) money talks and in Hollywood film money talks louder than anything else. The police aren't going to do anything about an allegation that a famous movie director showed you his p****, or sexually assaulted you unless you can really prove it.

And if you do come forwards, its probably a case of never work in this town again. You don't get many breaks in Hollywood, and no doubt if you won't suck it the next girl will.

Most of these cases, don't get pursued by the police. Its a he said, she said, we don't really care and a donation to the police charity or pressure from the commissioner and the case goes away.

There are a lot of these stories waiting to come out - Especially regarding child sex offences and producers / directors etc. But the industry has been notorious for sexual exploitation for as long as its existed.

Hollywood police and LA police are notoriously protective of their primary industry.
