You are suggesting decimating the depth of squad in January when at we will most probably be around relegation zone due to our bad start. The young players you suggest do not need to be in 25 anyway. If we were to place Hennessey, Ward and Kelly on market we would get buyers. We already need 1 keeper so we would need 2 and we need replacements for other 2. The replacements will be on EPL wages so little if any saving. Cabaye I agree with you is past his best but I am not sure we will get a buyer and he will want to see contract out. Most of the others you suggest other than Sako (I can see him going back to Wolves) we are unlikely to find buyers due to wages. Of the players you suggest keeping Jules may stay but is not adequate cover in EPL. McArthur will not extend unless he is a first team regular so I think he will move on. Freddie time will tell but he is not EPL (or championship) level at present. The priorities in January have to be getting cover where we need it. Players like Ward and Kelly are adequate bench players at worst so in my view will be kept till our future is clearer. As we only have 1 spare place in the squad, we're going to have to sell/release a couple before we can get the 2 or 3 players we will need.

As long as we have more than 25 senior players they don't need to be named in squad. Which although a waste of money (We are good at that) should not stop other players coming in.

Where did I suggest that jules and Jimmy Mac should be let go ? Joel Ward as I understand it does not want to sign a new contract currently and therefore it is better for us to sell him if possible. If we are relegated players such as Hennessey and Sako will not get us back up. If as you say Sako and Hennessey are useful in the Championship ,then I would suggest that some desperate clubs in the Championship may come knocking in Jan - for a reasonable price of course.

Well I would like to know why Sako and Hennessy who are proven championship players would then have to go? Obviously there will be a lot of people moving on (Wilf, Sakho, Cabaye, Milo, Benteke, Townsend come to mind first) , but you talk about selling players on relatively high wages as an easy task. You don't really think anyone is going to take Mutch or Ward and pay us millions do you? Originally posted by CoombsyEagle
Not at all, the squad is just full of players that need to be moved on as they will not do a good enough job for us in either division at current levels. As I suggested it is time for Lumeka and Lokilo and the rest to fill the gaps - I am certain they will battle harder in their positions than some of those mentioned.

He should consider himself bloody lucky to be anywhere near a premier league squad and would be very surprised if another club even a decent championship club would want him. My god, what did he do for the first and last goal on Saturday. Has been embarrassingly poor imo. Originally posted by Palace in the Blood

If we need squad places in January then we can remove names from it whether we sell em or not. I’d not be surprised if we even paid up a couple of contracts & players leave by mutual consent.

Right-click on player, select "Mark for Sale", hit "Next Turn" and choose the best offer, it's just that easy!
