Why do you think China abandoned the model?

I do hope Ryanair don't get their hands on the routes. Norwegian Air and Whizz have been negotiating with Monarch over taking over their short haul operations but both dropped out. They might come back into the frame now and buy the operation from the Administrator at a much cheaper price

Flight only tickets purchased from 15th December 2016 onwards are not ATOL protected; this is confirmed on the monarch/caa website. Funds should be recoverable if payment was by credit card or if insurance is in place. Like eagleman13, I have a couple of journeys booked - one next week which I was able to replace with an Easyjet flight at little extra cost, and the other over the October half-term for which prices on Easyjet and BA are 2x to 3x higher .....

Mine aren't flight only Kerms(thank god)...altho the website I use(onthebeach) you buy your hols in separate parts but all form 1 single hols. I have had a pleasing email from them(otb) 7& DO have ATOL certs as well as paying by debit card. Will just have to wait 14 days as requested by OTB while they get stranded peeps back to UK. Good Luck to any other people also caught up in this mess.

My son was meant to fly Monarch to train with Barca for half term. Between ISIS, the Spanish Military Police and Monarch that's a f***ing hattrick. Edited by pefwin (02 Oct 2017 7.37pm)
