Confidence of our players shot. Lack of quality all over. We are, at the moment, deservedly bottom of the table.

Only glimmer of hope is there are 3 or 4 teams not much better than us. If we can make it to January within touching distance of the other relegation candidates, we might stand a chance. However, we could well be 8 points from safety come the Newcastle game. Massive gap to overhaul

I am afraid it is very unlikely we can recover from this awful start. If we can it will surpass any other escape we have made in the past. I am afraid the powers that be must take responsibility for this mess as it's been on the cards for over a year now. Only those in charge will know why we have no striker available to play, just rank poor management.

As long as we start picking up points straight after Chelsea, hopefully including Chelsea, then yes.
Can't have a few games where we play better but don't get decent amount of points.

Looking back at previous relegation battles, they are usually split between the teams at the bottom in March, not now. That just collapse and lose touch and the odd team that everyone has given up on,that perform a miracle, they become for a period as good as the top 4 their players suddenly find skills and attitude and success. Some teams do this season after season, escaping and then slipping back, eventually they slip and are gone. We have yet to find out which team we have, Did anybody expect to stay up forever?

I think because of the rule changes we'll struggle to survive. When it used to be 3 points for a win, with a fit squad I'd give us a chance because we're only 5 points from safety.

Now that isn't the case I'm going to be like a lot of other palace 'fans' and just write the season off. I'll be there next season on the championship though, hope they are too.

If only those 3 points for a win days were back. We'd only be two wins from safety and everyone would be ready for the fight. Sad times.

I've just enjoyed a lovely 11% barrel aged Belgian quad ale so for me a big yes

Tommorrow morning might be a different matter

Yes, it's possible. After all, we corrected the awful start to the first season in 2013/2014. However, then we had the Tony Pulis affect.

But there is little room for manoeuvre and Palace cannot really afford the 'luxury' of another two or more defeats in a row.

This is of course assuming we start picking up points after Chelsea.

I have accepted we are down, but look on the bright side, we can play Millwall and Brighton next year and stand a decent chance of getting a beer at halftime.
