How many people watch Real Madrid, Barca and Atletico every week?

People like watching players they know play well.

As thrilling as a 3-3 between Bournemouth and Swansea, or Levante and Celta Vigo, might be it's still going to draw a smaller audience than a game containing Aguero, Hazard, Messi, Ronaldo etc.

I don't agree with the plan, but I don't agree with the 'no one wants to watch it' line. People love watching Messi roasting a crap team.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, when I wrote real football fans I meant the ones who actually go to watch their team despite how sh**e they may be, not the ones who sit on there sofas with their (knock off) Barca shirts on, that will indecently be changed to Madrid shirts when they get the upper hand.
I don't tend to watch foreign football much, as I find it boring.

That would be the ultimate revenge - the Spanish FA barring independent Catalan teams from playing in La Liga.

Wouldn't really be revenge, they'd have made a rod for their own back.

From an English point of view it's probably down to the person that runs football in this country - Rupert Murdoch

I don't have a problem with Sky, in fact I preferred it when they were the exclusive source of live league games before the EU enforced carve up.

In the next auction I can see the games being split between 3 or possibly 4 sources. Better the devil you know.

In which case you are talking about a fairly small minority compared to those who are watching Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, Man City, Chelsea, Bayern Munich every week because they want to see the top players strutting their stuff.

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

That's not necessarily good news as it only fuels the intentions of the top 6 Premier clubs to ultimately form a breakaway league with the elite of Europe.

That would give any breakaway European league a colossal media deal and huge overseas TV payments as well!
Would the rest of the Premier clubs still earn as much as they currently do or be left with much lower media deals and overseas TV payments going forwards?
Be careful what you wish for!

Not ever happening in my opinion, as I had already put previously.
