I feel the same in blaming FdB, and yes the board for getting him in. His vanity project of w***ing with a football cost us dearly and all the talk about, style, system, possesion, control, wing backs, being attractive has all been a load of bulls***. Not praising myself for having a glass ball but it pretty much went exactly the way I worried it was going to be from the onset. He simply underestimated English football in general and the premier league in particular.
And to be clear: I had no personal grudges at all against FdB, but afraid I have now.

At the end of the day, in my humble estimation, we weren't the right club for him and he wasn't the right manager for us. Understand that there is a possibility he could be going to struggling Deportivo in La Liga.

That's what makes FDB so stupid. The need to wind it back and then forward 6 months later, more than it was before, 12 months ago.

That was clear, however feel I can still blame him for messing up! Feeling strongly about it, more so as I felt it coming from the day he was appointed.
Yes, he was linked with Anderlecht as well. He did do well here with 4 league wins with Ajax but suprised he may get another decent chance at things so soon.

And he was told to stop doing it and to get his s*** together but he still insisted that what he was doing was "right", pi**ed everybody off, pardewed half the players (with impressive rapidity), and when he did play a system that suited us he did so under protest and made it clear that he would revert to type the minute the Board wasn't sitting on his arse.

Getting it wrong in the first place and getting a bollocking would be forgiveable. Ignoring the bollocking and continuing to be an arsehole clearly would not.

Is that true? He should never have ben hired in the first place then. His philosophy and principles are obviously paramount to him.

Personally, I think we should've just let him get on with it. To replace one of the best footballers of the last 30 years and a young, promising manager with the man who led England to defeat against Iceland is ridiculous!

That is the biggest understatement of them all.

And which principles,.....? The one of 3/5 at the back which he barely ever used before? Don't get it wrong there, the system he tried to introduce has NOTHING and NOTHING at all to do with the system Ajax traditionally played and plays but I feel everything with Conte winning the League with it and Holland using it at the Worldcup in Brazil.
With the squad we had it was totally obvious that it was going to be needlessly complicated and difficult and it is unforgivable he did not (want to) see that.

Roy is a well respected coach so probably not ridiculous. Deserved a point v Southampton, played well 1st half at Man City. What might do him is lack of points now, games left, striker shambles and any further injuries. He's very studious, methodical and respectful of his privileged position. He and many others are just not cut out to manage England in tournaments. I think the last few opponents all behind the ball we were unable to cope with. Some of the unfit players going instead of in form players he also got wrong, as have many others.

There were hints from what Frank said as to what he was about.

'Gradual' then '3-4-3 suits the players. Fvck off it does. The established clubs it does.

Something about wanting to manage in the prem and ''it just happened to be us'', coinciding with 3-4-3, and that's after that agent rubbish calling Parish to say Frank wasn't interested in Southampton. I believe the phone call. I don't believe Frank or his agent.

All that guff about it being a long term project and the academy. He would've been off talking to a top 6 team in secret before Parish knew about it.

Yet when Sam walked away Roy Hodgson consistently came bottom of the popularity polls on here and stood out as the one candidate that almost no-one wanted

Maybe but aside from the fact he's the only unemployed and cheaper option left and willing, his strategy is more comparable to what's worked before. I also don't buy this opinion that all of Pulis, Pardew's (when successful) and Sam's football was awful to watch. It wasn't just lump it to the penalty spot. It became that 2nd half v Southampton but in the 1st half and without wilf there was some decent play between Ruben and Benteke. And then in the 1st half v Man City some more decent play. I said at ht it was good it the same needed in the 2nd half. So going on that the 1st halves have been promising, but it's the sh1t out of his control he could do without.
