Palace did have a normal routine of bringing in a young player if they stood out in reserve matches. Maybe a subs spot followed by full blooding. If a player didn't look first team quality in reserve he was just moved on. If he made the team this was seen as the final test before a true assessment could be made. Why is this no longer the method? If the ELL is too high a level to blood youngsters then what are we saying?
There growing interest abroad for young British players, as they are being taken abroad by foreign clubs to train them up ready for a career in the game, and many are making it. The next few years will see this mushroom. FdB was correct in his assessment of the situation and we must hope that if nothing else, Palace have learned from his short tenure.

Absolutely spot on, Rudi. What a bunch of apologists for the shambles that SP has created. They must be either relatives, on the payroll or just challenged, in my honest opinion.

Jackson.. Wan Bissaka.... Sansom.. Nicholas.. Cannon.. Guehi.... Zaha... Thomas.. Byrne... Holton.. Rogers.. that should do it..
