Obviously everyone’s worried and frustrated but I can’t understand the mentality to just whine and whine until we start winning again. The toxic negativity from our fans on message boards and social media is damaging.

Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

The toxic negativity from our fans on message boards and social media is damaging. that is the nature of modern media. Like it or not. Says as much about the Club when players and Chairmen get involved with fans on Twitter, and the like. Still, we won yesterday and are showing signs of improvement, and hopefully morale will increase amongst the players. Edited by Forest Hillbilly (20 Sep 2017 8.02am)

What do you suggest then, pretend that we are playing well and winning games and post accordingly or close the forum down so that no-one can be seen to be saying anything negative

Talking about what’s actually going on is fine. Childish whining is nothing. Look at any social media post from the club or local papers etc. and all you’ll read in the comments section is snidey digs at everyone connected to the club. Again and again you see people gleefully digging out the team they supposedly support. Abusing people who are struggling and who may well read it. It’s f*cking pathetic.

Compare Moyes "I expect to get relegated" when at Sunderland to Roy's "we've not had the best of starts but I believe we can turn this around & have every confidence Palace will remain in the premier league". Similar situations but opposite outlooks. There's absolutely no problem in making your feelings known but to do just that is both pointless and negative. Accept we've screwed up as a club but also accept that we've looked to address the issues and put things right. We've been in worse situations & come through but then we didn't have the levels of vitriol we do this season. Last night there were just a lot of fans urging the side on & singing their bits off. You could see a difference in the players during the game & their gratitude after. It's what they need instead of a load of gobby fans on their backs non-stop.
Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five! |

It was Simon Jordan, when he owned the Club,, who said something along the lines of "When the team aren't winning, even the burgers taste cr@p" You are quite correct that there has been an online blood-lust. Wanting owners to sell-up, new Manager suggestions, digging-out everyone from SP, Big Phil, DF, RH. Even catering was getting a few digs (although probably a bit deserved ) One good result against Huddersfield, and we (the fans) can hopefully take rational stock of the situation.

That's one of the reasons why I don't follow Palace on Facebook or Twitter as they both seem to be gathering places for halfwits. What makes it worse is the media fixation of getting quotes from Twitter to go with every article they write but they only seem to publish posts from dorks
