Good player, bags of potential, could play alongside Luka in front of the back 4 in matches against the top teams. Don't really see him as a centre half as he isn't going to displace Sakho in that left CB position. Could he possibly play LB, he is left footed but we haven't seen enough of him to decide if he could play there. He would certainly be more defensive minded than the two we spent all of that money on. If we can't find a spot for him then I'll swap him plus £10/£12 million for Bolasie as I see Everton are still keen on the dutch connection.

It was utterly stupid to spend £8 million on him at this time. He's primarily a centre-back, and we have 7 of them now. His passing ability could come in useful if he's played in his alternative defensive midfield role, but I would rather Cabaye, Luka and RLC as our central midfield 3.

A highly-rated prospect who will hopefully come good for us in the future. Of course, if we're relegated, he'll probably be immediately sold at a loss, having not played 10 games for us.

Or we will sell the first choice players you mention... put Riedewald into his preferred position... and see him thrive.

I though he looked good when he came on against Burnley. I'd like to see him play. Perhaps ahead of Dann as a centre back.

Well I think he should be pretty much one of the first names on the team sheet for tomorrow, possibly in the DM role, it's an ideal opportunity to get another look at him against pl opposition.

I have to agree with Willo, Cabaye seems to be a shadow of the player he was. I'm hoping its just the general malaise that's infected the squad but I have a feeling his legs have gone.

He was a rabbit in the headlights against Huddersfield and he only came on Saturday, because Southampton had parked the bus, to release Dann to assist the attack. By the time he came on Southampton had long since given up any idea of launching an attack so it was hardly a testing appearance. I've seen nothing that suggests he's anywhere near a PL start.

He came on briefly against Burnley in midfield but I am not sure what you were watching on Saturday?

I agree with this, he s looked bog ordinary, looked lost against Huddersfield, when he came on at Burnley, his passing was poor. To be fair there are others under performing as well, but what worried me was I thought he'd be used to the FDB way coming from Ajax, he looked as confused as the rest of the defence.

and it's goodnight from me.......

I think it's fairly obvious that he meant Burnley as he did say "Southampton had long since given up any idea of launching an attack" which of course they didn't do whereas it was Burnley that were doing everything to protect their lead

Stretching the interpretation of what was meant by a country mile methinks. Are you a Midlands Eagle called Bexley Dave?
