Possibly FdB's influence though.

Was he the same with BigSam around?

Im told he was , these big managers don't need another voice
They just need a mate that does exactly what they ask
Read Peter Taylor to Brian Clough ~ You think anyone had an opinion over Cloughie ?? ~ No but he took Taylor wherever he went

I have no real opinion about Lewington, many people have said he is an excellent coach etc, so why has no one offered him a job since he left the England job,

My friend who is involved with another PL club has known Lewington for many years and they worked together some while ago.He has always praised the coaching prowess of Lewington.

If Ray Lew is such a great coach - which I am sure he is - why isn't he taking/given the role as first team coach?

Just seems to me to be a logical solution with little Sam then staying on in post.

Or is that too logical and/or is it me being really thick?

Do some on here have short memories? ' if he is a great coach....' well he wasn't bad last time he coached the team.

We saw with Millen the perils of keeping a mix of staff from different regimes.

Little Sammy was big Sam's man and we have moved on.

As soon as little Sam came in last season there was a noticeable upturn. He also gets through to players. Townsend a big example.

A big loss that can't be denied but as we've just seen, some can't work or it won't work with combinations of people. Just hope whatever the final management team is it works out. I think it will. Some pain along the way but we'll get there.
