'Nicholas: Palace are a joke'

[Link]

I imagine the fans of every other premiership team are finding it quite a giggle. Especially Huddersfield, Liverpool, Swansea and Burnley to whom we have gifted 12 points. Saints fans are currently all moaning along the lines of 'It's so unfair, we wanted 3 points as well. Team's shouldn't be allowed to change their manager until the Jan transfer window'.
Meanwhile City, Utd and Chelsea fans consider it beneath their dignity to comment on the antics of 'cannon fodder'.

I'd like to know what he thought about the appointment.

I actually share Jordan's opinion on this which I rarely do. I did on the appointment when everyone was digging out Jordan and I do now. But when you start hearing some of the cr&p, and I mean more isolating players without realising you might need them very soon and indeed did, it doesn't look good to Frank. You get people out gradually you don't want, not treat them like sh1t and expect them to come in rusty and save you. But 'gradual' is just a meaningless word to Frank.

Frank lives in a fantasy and reality hasn't dawned on him yet. Players aren't sold the moment you tell them they're being sold and players who cannot do certain things just can't. Thinks he's better and more clever than he is, but so does Parish, in football matters.

I was 50:50 about the appointment but in hindsight it was an awful one.

This article f**ked me off though. Nicholas seems to be getting a bit too much joy out of it. He's probably right about a few things but right now he can go f**k himself.

Charlie Nicholas. Why are we even taking any notice of the utter toilet that he is spouting? What does he know? Nothing.

Poor mans Adrian Durham, and that's saying something.

The three teams that finish below us once Roy gets us back to basics will not find us a joke.

Good Luck Roy , you certainly cannot do any worse than Frank.

Good luck with this thread. While I agree that getting rid of FdB quickly was for the best you do have to ask who appointed him in the first place and why. It's been a monumental cock up and responsibility for that rests squarely with CPFC.

Too true, and hopefully in due course Parish will admit to the mustake he so evidently made. Meanwhile its kind of a fresh start with Hodgson, so lets get stuck in and begin to fight for every point

What do you want Parish to do ? Come out on the pitch Saturday and beg our forgiveness for making the mistake of appointing Frank ?

He has already admitted to it by taking the action he has , and I do not suppose he is very pleased or proud of it , but he has swallowed his pride , accepted his error and tried to take action to put it right.
Let's hope it works and get behind the club , the team , the manager and the chairman.

These pundits make me laugh especially when they dig each other out like C. Sutton and A. Durram a while back. They obviously find the more radical views they get out there the more work they will pick up.
We as a club have obviously got into a not ideal situation and possibly Frank could of been given a bit longer but S. Parish is on the inside and acted sooner rather than later. It's going to cost a few quid for the initial error and let's hope Roy stops the rot, Steve Parish is there to make the big calls I think he gets it mostly right

Agree with this. All this bollocks that somehow Parish owes the fans an apology. He appointed Frank in good faith. Most of us were nervous given the fall out from Pardews "transition season" though I along with many others was pleased at the time. It didn't work. We're not ready for sexy football and Parish was probably lead to believe that Frank wouldn't try the conversion in the first match. Let's move on and stop demonising someone who is clearly trying his best.

Can everyone stop handwringing about the mistakes Parish has made (he is human) and recognise that the trend has been positive under his leadership. He made a mistake and he's corrected it. All those whinging about Roy are probably those who were whinging about Pulis and Allardyce. They might have a pleasant surprise. Plenty of premiership experience (what we need rather than a sexy newbie) and success with clubs similar to ours. Watch his first interview if you thing he has no charisma. Like the fella. Now more is surfacing about what was happening in the background I hope no one does boycott Southampton. So important we all help the team to get something. Onwards and upwards. I wish Frank all the best but if the atmosphere and relationships were as sour behind the scenes as made out, sounds like he needed to go, even if it was a cultural issue. Playing the Dutch way doesn't work in England with our squad.

And Charlie Nicholas is a joke and needs to wind his neck in....

Chris Sutton was correct with what he said, but that was before hearing about all the stuff that has come out, on top of the debacle in pre season with Luka and Ward which showed v Huddersfield, the players out of position, two 19 year olds at centre back, playing a system without any sing backs in the squad. The list goes on and on. Isolating players then days later needing them and to come in and perform for you.

Jason Cundy said on Monday the person who decided on Frank should go. He has a good point although that's probably Parish. Parish moves Parish really, until he doesn't correct his last financially costly premier league fvck up. Cundy has now said today that it sounds as if the relationship between manager and chairman broke down so it's for the best they part company.

What I'd like to see is some pundits compare their opinion on the hiring and firing and then take into account Frank's approach. Nobody comes out of this well. Parish, Frank, players. But to keep saying '4 games' just shows their limitations to analyse anything longer than 2 sentences. A lot of simpletons like football.

Charlie Nick struggles with the Queens English at the best of times. Brains in his feet. Chris Sutton likes the sound of his own voice. Loved them both as Celtic players but a pair of a**e holes as pundits. As for De Boer... he played for Rangers ffs!! Enough said.

We will be fine now. Onwards and upwards Eagles!

Let them boycott if they want. Probably just a few violets anyway.

I don't wish Frank anything. Even though Burnley was better and 4 at the back, it sounded like he was going to go back to it and I was completely turned off him the way 'gradual' and 'results before style' were dumped within weeks and either no squad appraisal or a very bad appraisal. He was 6 players short of 3-4-3 with a £40 mil net max ffs, and it showed, very badly. He wanted to catch up with those top 5 managers and use us as an inconsequential vehicle to get there. A lying, stubborn fool who if anybody does their research on this, won't employ him in England again. Doesn't excuse Parish though. Not at all, or the players to some extent, but the approach made it very difficult to make up for.

Parish seems much more decisive on hiring replacement managers during the season than he does in offseason
