Well written piece on latest mess we find ourselves in .

Just another lot of waffle, telling us nothing we all didn't already know.
Lazy Journalism.
It was more exciting when he told us about the 4 new signings we were getting, even though it wasn't true!

There is nothing to protest about .
We were nailed on for relegation with Frank.
You only have to have watched the pre season and the matches to know it.
Also he was upsetting the regime / players as being suggested in background thus damaging the club, he had to go.
In four matches times we would have said have a protest to get him out.

More than likely inevitable. I would've had him on game by game monitoring but it does seem as though he was itching to play 3-4-3, show the top 5 what he could do and go there if it works or just walk away without a care if it didn't. That was my reading of him once he mentioned it and still is. And I didn't want him before that. Was willing to give him a bit of time though. The chairmanship has been far from classy. Who conducts transfers. Manager old style or continental board style, with Parish in Spain for most of the summer. Oh it's okay, modern communications and all that.

Frank, parish and board all share some blame. Time to support and them to sort it out and move out those who should be when possible. That's how you do that. Not renewing contracts on a cb to never play and then end up with 7 of them or isolate them and then select them a day later. They're all acting very amateurishly but have time to correct it. That or they're going to get abuse for sh1t performances once relegated.

All of your points are based on your own opinion (which is fine) and gossip (which is not) but none of which is fact.
We were not nailed on to be relegated under FdB. The game against Burnley actually suggests the tide is (or was) about to turn in our favour.
Talk of him upsetting the regime/players is just that, talk. The performance Sunday 100% proves that at least the players on the pitch were playing for him. On your final point, in 4 matches time I think most of us would have been breathing a sigh of relief that we didn't sack him as I truly believe it would have started to come good.
The bloke has been treated unforgivably badly. This will do us harm in the future when recruiting a manager that isn't in his 70s and has a choice of other clubs and is talented. Would you want to take a job with someone that may sack you 4 games in? I know I wouldn't

You could argue Frank treated the future and league status with little respect. Saying one thing in interviews, well certainly in public so we assume in interviews, then either without assessing the squad or assessing it very badly, decides it's full steam ahead with 3 at the back. It didn't sound like he shelved it either.

Whatever anyone hears, thinks, believes, we weren't a good match. I said that when he joined and I still think it. He has serious shortcomings, more than we can absorb, and it's very obvious to me he was putting himself on a fast track to a top 5 job. Think about it. He was considered for jobs like Liverpool before inter where he's probably convinced himself with the help of the media that none of that was any of his responsibility.

When there were points to be had he didn't respect them, then when it was tough with injuries and fixtures etc we wished he had. Whether he does or not or would just only reluctantly change short term to save his job, well.... That side of him is very Pardew.

If I took job and was really cr@p at from day one and made things worse than they were by just because I thought I knew better than everyone else I would expect the sack.
Indeed I would have sacked someone who did that , and Frank would have qualified for the sack for gross incompetence just for for his approach and team selection for the Huddersfield game.
My opinion at least is based on the hard facts and results of what we saw while he was in charge at Crystal Palace. It is not based on fantasy or hope that we would get better based on a game we lost to bang average relegation rival Burnley. We dominated because they had gone ahead early , they were content with that , sat back and we had to go at them , a better side would have come at us more or hit us harder on the break. If Burnley had not gone ahead so early you might well have seen a different type of game.
The gossip is just that gossip as you say but I was adding that as lots of people suggesting it might a clash etc, and some of them claim to be ITK, but whatever even just based on the football he had to go.
In the real world by the way there are probation periods so that the people who manage to get through the selection process by an invented CV and or a B&B interview who get get found out on the job can be removed quickly and easily. This seems to have happened to Frank , unfortunately I do not suppose we had Frank on probation and he will get compo for his b@lls*** so do not feel sorry for him he has made a tidy sum out of us.

Just sing and support the club for points. It's that simple. None of that cr&p when Sam started until we realise we're contributing to our own relegation. It's up to blocks c, d etc, the upper and the Arfur to wake up from their coma before it's too late.

I can agree with your sentiments however isn't there a danger that the powers that be will just think they can do whatever they like and the great unwashed will still come, cheer and sing like trained monkeys?

That said, what are people protesting about? Appointing FdB? Sacking FdB? Players? Parish? The bogs in the Arthur?

Having said that, Hodgson will be 72 when his contract is up. Hard to plan too far ahead when he's liable to dose off midway through the second half.

Yes I expect at that age he'll be on quite a lot of medication.

I agree, I reckon hitting the panic button just as Frank got a decent performance out of the team is madness. Why not give him until Christmas? Hello relegation...

Well written piece on latest mess we find ourselves in .

There is no hiding from this fiasco, whether or not talk of fans’ protests is followed through on Saturday lunchtime which is a stupid idea in the first place as the fans should get behind the team who it has come to light were subjected to an awful and torrid for time under Frank De Boer which in turn made the players not want to play for him. Some senior club members of staff have come out and said the he was a control freak and he thought he ran the club and did not listen to good advice. This was the case in his last club where he got sacked from. I think if I was one of the players and the manger kept getting the ball in training and started showing off his skills in front of goal every five minutes I too would get p1$$ed off as our players did. His man management by all accounts is nil.

From Dominic Fifields article
"The owners – it is safe to assume the American investors, in particular – cannot contemplate slipping into the Championship. Once De Boer offered no clear plan as to how he would kickstart the team’s season in a meeting with Parish and the sporting director, Dougie Freedman, on the last Monday in August, the writing was on the wall.
The sight of the Dutchman bemoaning his players’ lack of “courage” on the ball in his post-match observations was too much for the owners to accept. One would have hoped the interview process might have highlighted any potential personality clash but clearly something had been lost in translation mid-summer. De Boer had apparently pledged “evolution, not revolution” but his approach suggested otherwise. Parish might argue some of the Dutchman’s tactics were evidence he had been hoodwinked. What so infuriated the board was De Boer’s apparent naivety when it came to the demands of the Premier League, as perverse as that may seem in relation to a man who excelled as a player at Barcelona, earned 112 Holland caps and claimed four Eredivise titles in six seasons as Ajax’s coach. Tony Pulis and Allardyce proved at Palace that the starting basis for any kind of success at a club of this size is a solid defence; be hard to beat first, and build any kind of progressive play from that base. De Boer could point to a fine defensive record in Dutch football but fell back on his principles, his weight of experience as a player and coach, and a favoured tactical game plan: a 3-4-3 forged on possession and patient buildup as if it was lifted from his Ajax days."

It seems pretty obvious to me that De Boer was completely out of his depth which the above proves and it was the best thing that SP could have done was to sack him especially when it seems De Boer had somehow hoodwinked him in the initial interview. I personally think SP should get some praise for acting so quickly on seeing where we were heading. He does not deserve all the flack he is getting as he is trying to put things right and we must all remember that he is not alone in decisions made by the owners he only does things when ALL three agree upom something. He knows as we do he is on a learning curve when it comes to running a football club and he HAS admitted it in the past many times both in the press and when interviewed on TV, radio or on Hol radio so give him a break he is only doing what he can do to make our club get better and it does not warrant us fans and everyone else calling him names etc. Give the guy a break and see how Roy gets to grips with the situation and gets our players playing like we know they can play and changes their mood from "pi$$ed off" to "Pride in a Palace shirt".

I say again a display like a fans protest on Saturday is really uncalled for and will only put the team off their game and quite well make it our 5th loss please remember that when Saturday comes, (plus remember the game is on TV) we do not want the world to see how fickle and stupid Crystal Palace Fans are but instead show them how we have the loudest and most loyal fans as we always have done in the past and spur the team on to get us our first three points on the board!!

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky.
