I'm not happy about it, nor about the way FdB has been treated; however I think it's now important to start learning from our mistakes. If the rumours are true..Woy is on a 2yr deal, so what I'd like to see is the Director of Football and Chairman draw up a list of Managers to succeed Woy (whenever that may be) NOW Not, when Woy walks or is pushed; but NOW. And the list needs to be maintained EVERY 8 weeks!! We've all seen that SP's due diligence has left a lot to be desired of late, so at least having a list will give us/him a head start. This should also be happening for targets as well... Edited by Lyons550 (11 Sep 2017 12.16pm) The list of managers who'd touch this club with a barge pole right now isn't long enough to bother drafting, Lyons.

And he'd better stick around for a few years - because right now this club smells strongly of s*** for any potential manager, and you can forget getting anyone decent in for a while. My guess is that Sam was approached first - and turned down the poisoned challice. If it is Roy Hodgson he does have a decent track record in the PL and Lewington is a good coach. Lets forget about his England record. Palace is a club in crisis and we need a safe pair of hands and a coaching team that wont try strange formations and will play to the strengths of the players we actually have. Hodgson and Lewington might be just what we need. They had better be or.....!

For years the charm of Palace for me is that we're not Chelsea or City, buying ourselves a title. We're not Accrington Stanley, people have heard of us. We're just this funny little unpredictable team that could beat Barcelona one week and lose to someone's nan the week after. Nothing's changed. Everyone's laughing at us again and I don't care. Up the Palace. In the words of my late grandfather "what about the Palace eh?" - always true.

His win % with Liverpool was 41%, West Brom 37%, Fulham 39% and Blackburn 34%. That doesn't seem too bad. Pochettinho's with Southampton, for instance, was 38%.

I just started a thread on exactly the same theme, then I see you have done a better job on my point.

Parish should hang his head in shame. I feared the worst when the yanks muscled in. Depressing. Not least that we were good yesterday or at least hideously unlucky.

I'll probably get trodden on for saying this but Roy is a lot better an appointment than "our dougie" which is what a few ppl expected and feared anyway
