Of course it would be nice to have ‘game changers’ on the bench, different options who are as good as the starting XI but when have we ever had that?

i guess thats why i become frustrated, as i know we're not that bad. a decent first 11, and a few subs. its not so much the losing, its the poor performances. as big sam showed, he can get a tune out of this lot. we should be a mid table, or just below that, side. we are not a possession based tactic squad. its like saying, why arent we playing tiki taca like barca? simply dont have the personnel. if a passing style is what we're aiming for, fine. but surely it should be a progressive thing. going from direct, and route one at times, to what we're trying now is crazy. and players playing out of position, and in totally alien formations, makes it worse. its like 10 headless chickens. players look confused and bereft of confidence. what happened to evolution, and not revolution?

It's a better squad than what it was at the same stage last season and that rate of improvement has been replicated throughout our stay in the Premier League thus far.

The only important first team player we have sold during that time is Bolasie. That's a commendable achievement.

We are short in a couple of areas but that applies to most other teams in the league in one way or another. You just have to live with it.

Plenty of positives to be had.

Do you class WH as good. Ward has been good but not for a while and not as a wing back. We are not far short just three players. Not sure who the good back ups are no game changers for sure.

When everyone is fit we are one short. A keeper.

Mensah. Dann. Sakho. PVA

--------------- Luka -----------

Zaha. Cheek. Cabaye. Townsend

--------------- Benteke ------------

You cannot tell me that is weak or sh1t.

Even this Sunday we can field a good side, if you read the Burnley line up thread.

Bodge, I saw your team and you wanted Delaney at CB. There was another bad choice in midfield. Can't remember.

Most of our squad are average. We are two players short of a very good starting eleven and have a few good young players who may step up.

Average in the Premier League gets us to mid table. I would take that.

Whenever Puncheon starts and Cabaye is fit but doesn't.

I don't know how realistic it is for us to expect to have that much depth to our squad.

Apart from the cost involved, how many decent players are going to be willing to sit on the bench most weeks? It's one thing being a sub. at United, City, Chelsea etc. and waiting your opportunity, but another thing kicking your heels at a smaller club like Palace.

In terms of our squad being stronger than at any time since we arrived in the Premier League, as suggested by some posters, I will reserve judgement on that. Ultimately I think the only way to judge that is by outcome and results. If we go down this season, in my book, it will be the worst squad we have had.

DD is our only leader that's why I picked him for Burnley. I put KaiKai in that's a gamble. I think I left Ward Luka and PVA out as they have imo been poor along with Punch.

WH/JS

FM/Ward Dann/Tomkins Sakho/DD Schlupp/PVA
Wilf/n/c Cabaye/Luka McArthur/Punch RLC/n/c ATn/c
CB/n/c

RLC looks very good and along with Wilf CB and AT its hard to cover for them but KaiKai Lokilo and Ladapo should get some chances.

Get a good gk a r/w/b and CW back and its a decent team with chances of a cup win.

i agree we still have a very good squad.. we are not a bad team , but we have to go back to a 433 joel ward who in my opinion is one of our better players looks like a very mediocre player as a wing back . and the more he plays there the less confident he is , oppositions can see this and are bombarding that side of the pitch.

oh yeah ,fcuk off brighton.
