Hypocrisy is synonymous with existing.

Big Brother would be proud of you citizen.

There is no comparison between teacher and student in such a case. One is bound by professional obligation and the other is not.

I think if that's in the dress code then that's valid. If it isn't then it isn't.

Regardless, there should be a difference in expected standards between what a teacher does and what a student does.

Interesting that this is how you characterise 'right-wing'.

Sounds more like free market capitalism.....Everyone except communists believe in that. But very few right wingers believe it should be applied to every area of life.

I think if you're going back 100 years or so, that's true, maybe even less. Socialist economic approaches are the basis of what is left wing, capitalist based economic approaches define the core basis of something as right wing.

Liberalism, Trade Unionism and the Labour movement have blurred that somewhat, adopting different methods and structures of inhibiting the degree of capitalism, and the move from a class to a consumer society blurred what is and isn't left wing with the rise of identity politics, equality movements etc (traditionally Liberal politics).

Also we've seen the rise of leftist inspired pro-capitalist movements (which whilst right wing, tend to be cast as leftist - Democrats for example).

Free Market capitalism tends to be towards the more right wing basis (as opposed to say Rawlsian and Keynesion). But its also true that what we call free market economics isn't really what the UK and US operate, its more 'inspired by free market economics'.

I feel its unfair to compare Donald Trump to Nazis, who were actually fairly popular, media savy and well organised

I find myself defending Trump a lot, which given that I only agree with him in a couple of policy areas, feels a bit weird.

The focus should be more on policy than the individual....I prefer how Sanders does it, which is to avoid the personal attacks.

You only do it cos us lefties think he is an inadequate sexual predator-like moron of epic proportions. If we liked him you'd be at the head of the queue slagging him off.

There's a gram of truth in this....Insomuch as I favour a balanced analysis of pretty much anything. I prefer objectivity to subjectivity.

I think it's valid to criticise anything too subjective. Whether it's me doing it or others. We always need to drill down to the roots of why we believe something....It's only then that we can have actual confidence in why we believe something.

I did initially defended Saville didn't I.....though to be fair to me....I didn't want to believe it....it was an emotional response....It fecked around with my childhood....I still believe that some of what was said was over the top.....but I don't think it can be fairly denied that he did what he did.

Mind you, if I were defending 'inadequate sexual predator-like morons of epic proportions' all the time then....I'd imagine I'd be doing little else.....They are probably more the norm than not.

What do you make of this [Link] re: Trump?
Pretty uncomfortable viewing and I am trying to be impartial by wondering has the video maker exaggerated everything going by its title but the Trump lad is making it very, very difficult to believe they have looking at the whole thing.

That Trump is an arsehole isn't much in doubt....however, this type of thing is indicative of what I'm moaning about.

Melania Trump is a highly intelligent women who has very much made her own bed. She can leave and could leave at any time.

When you read her views you can infer a lot about why things are probably how they are. Dysfunction is an aspects of most relationships regardless of political leanings.....some obviously more than others.....People are fecked up.
