I'd rather we bust the bank and try to get Benitez from Newcastle than go down the safe dull option of Hodgson.

No chance and it's not a matter of busting the bank. By the time that Steve Parish has decided that Benitez is the man to go for he would have already managed West Ham for a couple of games

Yup you're likely right, by all accounts we're lining Hodgson up for it. Very uninspiring IMO.

Reading a lot of these threads, I see lots of people frustrated by our attempts to be "inspiring". Parish is getting heat for exactly that.

What do fans actually want?

Well I think Simon's head is large; always involved in espionage. (Name that tune)

If Hodgson is next in line, then I won't waste 5 hours for a journey just to see us lose *cough cough Swansea cough cough* I'd rather shoot myself in the head and post it on the internet.

Guys and Gals forget Benitez why would he want to manage cpfc with just 1 forward and no money to talk about when nufc have the same issues , just pray they don`t go for Hodgeson as that would be out of the pan into the fire .

I'm not going to comment on potential successors etc etc, thereby fuelling even more rampant speculation but it does seem totally bizarre that the narrative is all about the manager departing the shores when all we have played is 3 league games, albeit they have all been losses.

As a supporter since the 60s, I never thought I would see the day when this scenario would unfold at our club.

Yes hes uninspiring but hes a safe pair of hands to get us out of the mire. At least he would play to our players strengths and more importantly knows the league and its intensity something which has caught FdB with his pants down

It very much sounds as though they want uninspiring.

I was pro big Sam right from the start and am pro Frank. I'm sure Hodgson would do ok, however I've just never personally warmed to him. Most likely more my issue.

Guess he'd get the team playing well which is the main thing. I could just envisage the club growing more with Frank or Benitez if either of them were able to succeed here.

That's a fairly simplistic view.

Ok in our current situation I'd probably agree. I.e. If we did change managers we'd want them to hit the ground running.

But plenty of teams have successfully employed managers with no Prem experience.

Hence why the Prem is FULL of foreign managers that at one point had no Prem experience. Gone are the days where it's just musical chairs between the managers already working here.

To many examples to bother naming, but yes IF we replaced frank then yeah we'd likely need someone with Prem experience to stabilise us, not least our baying mob of fans.

Dom Fifield feels that FDB could well be given his 'Marching orders' this week with Freedman installed as 'Interim' manager.Dom feels there is a real disconnect between the Board and FDB.
