Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

Niasse a no-go. Which leaves us with no cover for Benteke or a plan B off the bench. Weeks to sort this situation and it's left right until the last minute and then time runs out. That's unacceptable. 'We did our best to get Niasse' won't cut it. Another missed opportunity. I know that Sporting Director Dougie Freedman has only been in place for a couple of weeks but what on earth has Tim Coe the chief scout been doing?

I think Frank will be on his way out and in fairness I don't blame him. I wasn't privy to the first meeting before he came between him and Parish but I'm almost certain he would've been promised more than this. Said it time and time again that the whole approach to this window and Sakho has entirely lacked imagination and been absolutely amateurish, I'm sorry but I think it has, our priority should always be the squad and we have overlooked it entirely for the sake of not being able to identify one single alternative to Sakho that would be less money and give us more time to properly focus on other areas. We had so much time to identify targets and get them, it is abundantly clear that we need another striker and goalkeeper and have failed miserably - and im guessing it's because we were taking the "Sakho at all costs" stance and ensuring we had the budget necessary to get it secured on deadline day, regardless of repercussions on the rest of the squad. People can say what they want about the Frank situation, how much he doesn't suit "the palace way" and how tactically naive he may be. But the one thing no one can claim after this window is the guy has been backed in his attempts to evolve us and bring his vision to the club, be it too quickly or in baby steps. The whole appointment now just seems bizarre and you really have to question what Parishs thought process was when hiring him. Sam was backed to the hilt by Parish, Frank has been given 8mil and a big money signing on a player that's not his. This is a poor squad and I can only see a Big Sam/Pulis type of manager keeping it up this season - and sadly that ship has well and truly sunk. I will love the club regardless of how good or s*** we are. But the frustration of making the same mistakes over and over again and seemingly never learning from them just when it looks like we've turned a corner will never tire. I don't expect the world from this club and I've sung Parishes praises from the roof tops continuously, even during the Pardew saga, I've had full blown arguments with my mates about what Parish has done for this club and the place he's got us to. I disagree refutably with some Palace fans on certain issues but I always maintain that the one thing we all have in common is that we really do love our club with a passion and dedicate a large part of our life to it, and for the first time in a while, maybe not by Parish personally but by ownership collectively & in general, I feel like this summer we've been sold short and deserve a lot better. Edited by Mstrobez (01 Sep 2017 2.57am) FdB HAS been backed in a modest way. Riedewald is clearly his choice plus the two very good loan signings in Loftus Cheek and Fosu Mensah. This is a substabtially stronger squad than that available to BFS and a competent PL level manager should be able to pull clear of relegation into mid table with it. Its also very vulnerable to injuries re striker and gk and we have to hope we are lucky in those areas til the January window.

Sky Sports still saying Niasse is coming. I haven't seen any proper report that the deal has fallen through. Just not good enough, Parish has had the whole of the summer to address the goalkeeping and single striker situation and has done nothing, As a minimum he needs to explain why we are in this situation, The only option he now has is to bring in players that are free agents. I honestly can't for the life of me understand what the fcuk he has been doing

I guess with Sakho's return we could always play Scott Dann up front! 😉

We had the issue with agents fees in the Riedewald deal, and it delayed it by several days. So after waiting until the absolute last minute, like a bunch of idiots, we scupper a deal to sign a striker (making him our second fit premier league level striker) by allowing the agent fee issue to block it (without several days available as per the Riedewald deal). This is just incredibly poor planning and execution of how to run a football club. 3 year olds can usually learn from past experiences. Its schoolboy stuff and can we keep surviving in this league with these kind of schoolboy measures being taken by the leadership. All this game playing and nonsense with the sakho deal, posturing and lies until the absolute last minute, its bizarre the way we approach transfers.
Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha. |
