We need to give him time any new appointment whatever profession needs time to understand adapt and gain control of but i still do not understand his appointment anyway SP said he wanted a similar playing style to Sam that is the Palace way (Style suvives but does not progress) then he appoints someone who plays to and beyond what Pardew was trying to achieve and failed but we would be a laughing stock now if we fired him give him to middle of November then see.

The next international break will be the key if he's still in charge. If we don't win in the next 2 or score. It's goodbye frank for me.

Said this in a previous post. Cannot understand why SP would hire a possession based manager, knowing that we 1) do not have the players capable of playing this style.
2) do not have the funds to bring in players to implement the style.

This could all be rectified by the end of the window but we're leaving it late. If it's not, SP needs to admit his mistake, apologise to FDB (unlikely), cut his losses and bring in a manager who can fit the players style and our current budget.

If players are signed or not at this stage is secondary to my concern that Parish hired De Boer in the first place. Its the equivalent of Inter Milan appointing Colin. It is an awful, awful decision and shows a major lack of judgement. I think if this doesnt work out, and it doesnt look good, Parish should think about finding a way out of running the football side of the club. He can run the business side, but he is not, nor will he ever be, a football man.

Yep sounds harsh but I do agree. Raised similar point in another thread but I think further to this WTF does Mark Bright actually do then or is he on a Brighton payroll too?

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

To be honest, I feel like the whole structure of the club has been a bit somewhat lacking.

The players that we have missed out on/been beaten to has been a major fault of ours. Sigurdsson, Nyom, Begovic etc. Shows a failing in the way the transfers are conducted - maybe that is why we have signed Dougie (who I don't know whether he really has the best credentials for that role, but we'll see).

The academy has been pants for the best part of almost a decade. Who have we really produced of note since we got promoted? Lokilo looks like a good prospect, but he's been the player closest to the first-team for a long, long time. This shows a failing in youth scouting and coaching, which is exacerbated by our enormous potential catchment.

The lack of development in and around the stadium, in which you query the point of the American shareholders. The Arthur Wait has been needing an update for years, and the views at the back are the worth views in the top-flight, and a lot of the Championship. This shows a complete lack of foresight at the club. However, I suppose given our current situation, this is probably the lowest priority to have thus far.

The seemingly lack of options when Big Sam left. It felt as if we had no plan B for if Big Sam left. I understand it came out of nowhere, but even in a normal business you have plans for succession. Southampton have it, and have finished comfortably every season. They have huge dossiers on managers for possible succession - not just an interview, with a view to 'oh he talked the talk', because that's how you get Pardewed.

None of this is really a dig at Parish, as we all make mistakes, and this is his only footballing venture. However, I do think that, until we fix these things (minus the development point), we will never be a solid Premierleague team a la Southampton, Everton and Stoke (currently, but not including older examples), and will continue to be a fringe Premierleague team.

FDB will not be sacked after 3 or 4 games, the reason being that we could not replace him - who would want to come to a club that could sack you so quickly without having backed you in the market?

I keep saying this, but apparently people here think that acting on the spur of sudden anger will be just fine. Some on here would sack FDB and be left scratching their heads as to what to do next - or, more likely, complaining that we haven't gone out and got proven manager X or Y, when the fact will be that they won't want to step into this club.

Frank said it would be gradual and it has been anything but gradual.

True. What could be a factor in saving us is:

1) Parish can't sack him right now or he'll be open to serious criticism.

2) Frank can't afford to fail for the forseeable, as long as he's aware of the 'gradual' and results over style' comments before either persisting with fielding an obviously flawed formation, or doing anything knowing it's going to force Parish into sacking him.

Both of them in the spotlight now will hopefullty see us come out of this okay.
