Wasn't given enough of a chance in the premier league. In my opinion he is more then good enough at Premier League level and still very young. He's quick and a quality finisher. I'd take him back as quick as anything. He is a brilliant super sub at this level..

I think he has adequate time to prove himself at Premiership level, if Benitez doesn't think he is good enough then he isn't. We dont know what he is like in training etc

Not a good trainer. Dedication, punctuality, messing about.

I've often wondered this... Holloway, Warnock, Pullis and Pardew all decides not to make him a regular starter... Does make you think if it's down to his attitude, personality..

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

Will be useful could get rid of Benteke in January window possibly Wilf and Townsend if championship looks likely.

They may be superstars to you but to me they are not worth a w**k.

Gayle needs a chance, definitely good enough and I was gutted he went. Always gave his all and scored some corkers!

That's one expensive w*nk!

So buy Gayle now and sell Wilf + Co. in January !?

Maybe stick to what you know best instead of prematurely tossing our players away!!

Great impassioned speech 2424, I was gutted he left also, but he was only really getting game-time from the bench. He would be a great option on the bench, 2 up top with 'Teke, but he wants to start matches I believe, so he'll probably drop to the Champ again where more teams play with 2 up top.

Pulis apparently bid £15m for him according to TalkSh!te just now.

His level has been proved, he's championship and that's it. Are we really that resigned to going down already?

As soon as I heard that Newcastle wanted rid of him, I did wonder what he had done to deserve being offloaded so soon after being vital to their promotion. Not many managers seem to rate him, unlike the fans.

I'd have him back rather than not having another striker come in.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

On a free, yes. If Wickham is going to be out then Lokilo, Anderson and Ladapo are our backups for Benteke. No disrespect to those guys but Gayle has more experience.

Newcastle rate him @ £18 million so isn't going to happen. Another clear reminder where the market is at, at the moment. Could only see this if Townsend decided he wants to go back which would be bad business in my mind. Personally feel we will be getting a journeyman for the strikers role, probably a Kevin Doyle Mark 2. Heard Remy is still looking for a team ? RVP has just been recalled to the Dutch squad and has looked good in training ?

It's fairly obvious he knows nothing about football, but is probably very familiar with one-handed jousting.
