Parrish is a shrewd businessman. If he thinks it is best for the club that FDB goes he will act. You mean like he did with Pardew? Maybe a yer too late?

I have some frustration with SP and would welcome any insight but I sometimes wonder if he is actually a 'football person' and if not who is advising him on these managerial and playing staff decisions? My problem with FdB is that although I tried to blindly believe he might work the disastrous start to the season is everything my logic and footballing knowledge told me would happen! Also with both SP and FdB the thing that frustrates me most is the lack of genuine communication with fans. FdB never has anything insightful or inspirational to say after matches on what he is doing to address problems and the was little from SP on way of a new manager first and now transfers! I sincerely hope some constructive talks have taken place i.e.: we are gonna sign some players or address other problems (we all know what they are), doubt we will hear from the club what these talks actually mean for the fans though! Yep agree, he might be a Palace fan like us but that doesn't make him a good PL chairman. Most of us saw this coming, but not as quickly for sure! IMO he has only appointed 2 decent managers Pulis & Sam the rest well ..........

Apparently, the appointment of FdB was not Parish's choice alone - the 2 Americans also had input intothe selection and interview process. Might be a bit unfair to put all the blame on his shoulders alone, as it beggars the question were they overawed by the possibility of appointing a renown international manager?

Parish bless 'im is godawful when it comes to appointing managers and making the very most of the five year windfall. He won't leave us bankrupt but if we go down can't see us having much at all in the bank in three years.

Wow. What a f***ing in depth interview that was. And you think that was a good interview? Boolox It wasn't about de Boer at all, it was about Cascarino, who I already thought was a bit of a bellend.

I don't read to much into posts like that without trying to offend anyone and although I a acknowledge there may be reasons there is stifled communication with fans it's all very frustrating as it would seem clear we are in need of signings GK and St at very least but no information on why this isn't happening? Perhaps it will be done on deadline day but I am starting to doubt it will.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Birmingham only appointed Zola because of the pressure of US investors wanting a "big name" and got rid of an excellent manager in the process. Zola turned them into a total joke and nearly got them relegated. Moral: if you get involved with American finance make it clear to the shareholders that they know f*** all about football in Europe and that people they think are "big names" very often turn out to be muppets, chancers, bellends and tosspots. Hopefully de Boer will get his s*** together.

I'd stick my neck out and say he wasn't Parishs first choice my gut says that Pellegrino was before he went Southampton and between Parish and the Americans we plumed for trying FdB rather than Dych or Wagner. Time will tell if they got it right or not. Absolutely ridiculous to call for his head over it though. By all accounts he's not impressed either and wants stern words with FdB. That alone says he will most likely step in if he feels FdB isn't able to adapt his style to the Prem quick enough. I'd be much more worried if Parish wasn't worried which he obviously is.

I am amazed that people on here seek to criticise Parish after his record with us. He is categorically the best Chairman we've ever had, because he has the genuine interests of the club at heart - as all of us do.

I'm not going to comment about the sentiments expressed on this thread. All I will say is that when I saw the title of 'Parish poser' I immediately thought that if this referred to his looks and dress sense,Steve might take this as a compliment !
