I'm glad you find it funny. I think it's disgraceful and unacceptable. Yet you still went to the football in the 70's and 80's when loads more police were attacked EVERY weekend and as they are today on Friday and Saturday nights all over.

A ridiculous comparison but note that there is far less violence now because the authorities clamped down after multiple deaths and enormous costs and use of man power. You would justify anything to fly your little flag.

I have read that at Glastobury there were 71 arrests which compares with 300 arrests at the NHC. At the NHC, some 28 Police were injured, they were spat at, bitten, had acid thrown at them, even blood and were slashed with broken bottles. They arrested people who had hammers, knives etc. Not aware of all the details about incidents at Glastonbury, just asking the question whether the Police received similar treatment and whether offensive weapons were seized. An equivelance has been made between the NHC and Glastonbury - just trying to ascertain the facts. Edited by Willo (30 Aug 2017 10.53am)

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

NHC 300 arrests out of 2000000 attendees = roughly one every 6660.

One can deal with ratios and draw what conclusions one likes but maybe they don't tell a true story. What about the other questions that I posed regarding Police injuries, weapons etc ? Are you suggesting that the disorder at Glastonbury was an equivelance to that at NHC but because of the 'Ratios' it was perhaps greater ? Just trying to understand whether the argument is that as proportionately more people behave themselves at the NHC that at Glastonbury the violence at the NHC is actually not that significant. Edited by Willo (30 Aug 2017 11.06am) Arrests at Notting Hill were down on last year. Don't worry about the coming together of many people of different cultures in a carnival celebration. Just focus on something that fits a different agenda.

Oh well arrests were down so one can gloss over the violence which occured, the Police who were subjected to abhorrent treatment and the knives, hammers etc which were seized. I believe in the main people recognise the coming together of cultures etc and don't have an issue with this but they cannot ignore the downsides caused by unruly elements who infiltrate the 'Carnival celebration'. Just like the 'Rent-a mob' left-wing protestors who have heaped violence on their 'Anti-Capitalist marches etc etc etc. Didn't see too many black people amongst them so such disreputable behaviour is not just confined to blacks - I have no agenda against white, black, yellow, green purple etc etc, I judge people not by the colour of the skin but by them as individuals. Edited by Willo (30 Aug 2017 11.17am) I think you are overstating this somewhat. Off the top of your head willo, can you come up with more than 3 examples. Why aren't you complaining about the death of a young man at Reading festival?
Did you go on any of the anti capitalist marches? Which ones? Having been on many marches (none of which were billed as being anti capitalist ) I can assure you there is a good ethnic mix. I look forward to your response.
